he also brought in mcgee to face raburn even though raburn batted over .300 against lefties.
they are so well prepared madden knew rayburn batted .087 against fastball 95+, so they bring in mcgee to throw nothing but fastballs to strike him out. the odds are better the jags bet denver than ron washington even know this let alone make the decision to do it.Comment -
he's the best.
gives up the DH spot so he doesn't have to play delmon young in the outfield when myers craps up. then uses his back up catcher lobaton(the last player on his bench) for a double switch. lobaton hits a walk off HR against a guy that hasn't give one up since june 30 and left handed batters are hitting .116/.154/.186 against him. most managers will never use a back up catcher encase the starter gets hurt even though the probability of it happening is less than 1 percent in a game.
i understand a lot of luck went into them winning the game tonight, but the decision that led up to it makes it awesome.Comment
