Angels vs Mariners
The Mariners got the monkey off their backs last night, snapping their 20 game winless streak against the AL West.
The M's have now won five straight games and look to keep it going with another 'upset' victory this evening. Jered Weaver's career has gotten off to a sensational start and he pitched well again last time out. However, he didn't get any run support and ended up suffering his first loss. That ruined his bid to become just the third pitcher in history to win his first 10 decisions. With his winning streak finally finished, I wouldn't be surprised to see Weaver suffer a bit of a letdown tonight.
Jarrod Washburn lost at Anaheim two starts ago. However, he's been solid at home all season (3.66 ERA) and he comes off a well-pitched victory vs. the Yankees. Expect him to rise to the occasion tonight and get some payback against his former team.
