I think it's very easy to like the Mets today. You can't bet the Marlins as favorites unless they have a clear pitching edge, which they don't here. This line is slewed by Hefner's last two starts, he's still only allowed more than three earned runs four times in 20 starts. Hefner xFIP is 3.94, Turner is 4.23. Neither great but Hefner still better over almost twice as many innings.

Hefner has pitched well in his his two starts against Miami this year. I don't see a clear advantage that Miami has over New York here. I know Hefner has been regressing lately but I'm not sure the Marlins are the type of team to take advantage of that.

Back in the day when all you needed were good Sabre numbers to win in MLB. Even other sports were easier to beat until the last few years, when so many sites with good data were discovered and old edges disappeared.

Biggest bet of my life was 6K in Super Bowl between Rams and Tennessee, the "one more yard" game. I had the Under and would has lost if game went into OT. Ah, the good old days. (sigh)

It was the exact same pitching matchup as tonight and I had the exact same Red Sox / Under combo. I don't think I'll do worse than split like last time only this time I am getting slightly better price on Boston (think it was around +100 last time)
