The Red Sox are in desperate need of wins to keep in playoff contention.

With middle relief problems and with Manny Ramirez sidelined they need a huge effort from their starting pitchers.

David Wells has been one of the best clutch performers in the game over his career. Wells has posted a sparkling 2.67 ERA in his 4 starts since returning from the DL. Seattle starter Gil Meche has been horrible in his last 5 starts posting a 9.80 ERA and a whopping 2.57 WHIP.

    Play: Boston Red Sox –120.

i don't know what to think of this red sox team right now. there like 4.5 games back, and seattle has been playing very good ball as of late.

i think the over could be the way to play this game IF Manny plays tonight.

Meche's whip is over 2.5 and his era is approaching 10 in his last three starts. Wells has been pitching better lately, but will still give it up. The over looks like an absolute steal tonight.
