Reds at Cardinals - Aug 17th
    Seeing Reds In St. Louis

Taking the Reds on the road in against the Cardinals' Jeff Weaver is the way to play this series finale in St. Louis.

    By: Ross Benjamin

My eyes light up like a pinball machine every time I see Jeff Weaver installed as a favorite.

In seven starts at home this season, Weaver has posted a pathetic 9.09 ERA. The Cardinals as a team have been a money burner as a favorite of late going just 3-9 in their last 12 in that role.

The Reds have been a tremendous value as an away underdog of +120 or less this season going 14-5 in that role. Cincinnati is 8-3 in their last 11 versus the Cardinals. Cincinnati starter Kyle Lohse, although not one of my personal favorites, has pitched very well in his two starts for the Reds striking out 15, walking only one, and posting a 2.92 ERA.

The Reds are a solid 31-27 on the road this season and versus a lame duck pitcher like Jeff Weaver is the value.

    Play: Reds +110

this is not a game i'd bet on today at all, but the only way i could play this is the reds due to more of an anti-weaver type play.

It's hard to believe that Weaver has pitched recently. Tough loss.
