I'd like to know what Mike Leake has done/changed to become an effective pitcher. He used to be an absolute gascan. Haven't had the chance to watch any of his games so far this year, but the stats seem legit. Has this gueyeyeye really turned a corner?
Any Reds fans/followers out there?

#4Honestly I don't think he has changed much of anything. It does seem like he is working ahead in the count more and getting his off speed across the plate in any count he wants. If you look back to when the Reds won the Central division in 2010 Mike Leake was our only pitcher with more than 10 wins. Just seems like the past couple years he has been struggling with the afformentioned. And when a guy without a dominate fastball has to serve it up when behind in the count= gas can.Comment -

#7He's always been around a 4 ERA kind of guy with a penchant for giving up the long ball. almost everything I see, stats as well as release/movement/pitch selection seems the same as previous years but getting different results. he simply hasn't been squared up as he has in the past (16% LD% - career 21%, 9% HR/FB - career 14%) but warm summer days in cincy should correct this soon enough.Comment -

#15He was getting hammered early in this game, but the ball was going right to his fielders.
Of course, he's facing the Cubs, who just lie down and die if they don't get anything going early. And Sveum's lineup starts with six lefties -- probably 50/50 if he was drunk this morning when he filled out the card.Comment -
