It`s the other way around Jeffrey, he bets the exact amount on favs to win even units. He bets even units to win the random + line amount.

You always bet to win or lose a unit. Therefore if a team is favored (ex. -148) then you have to bet 148 to win 100 assuming 100 is your base unit play. When the team is an underdog then you flat bet your unit at 100 and it will pay out more obviously.

This is all predicated on the fact that good handicappers bet based on units. So they assign themselves a value of what their units will consist of and bet accordingly. If you bet 100 when a line is -140 then you're only winning $71.42 so you're not being consistent in comparison to betting underdogs who would of paid out $138 on your $100 bet.

Again you bet to either win a unit or lose a unit.
