I can hear some of you in SBR nation right now...
"Nashy, your'e fading Westbrook against Peralta? Nashy, you get into the sour mash already dude?"
I hate to throw the words "sqaure" or, "public" around too much, but after doing the homework, Brews eat Westbrook up for dinner, and even though no doubt Westbrook is the better pitcher, the (I hate this word, but it applies) the 'squares are going to look at Westbrook's 0.98 ERA, and 1.37 WH/IP ratio, pick up the phone, call Buzzy the local bookie, and say "Gimme the Cards, 20 times tonight"
And get barreled in.
Seen it 1000 times.
Here's a big reason why Wily Peralty, at home, is a pick 'em
This is not a 15 at bat, 1 game cross section, this is a huge 132 AB cross section.
Brews mash Westbrook on a regular basis. Especially at home.
The slap hitters in the line up smack Westbrook, big boy Braun smacks Westbrook, they all do.
Break it down further, Westbrook, away from St. Louis, is pretty much an average pitcher.
Peralta has won his last 3 starts, despite giving up 3 run in his last against a good LA line up, was good.
(3 runs, 6 hits, 1 walk)
This is a spot play, if this game is in St. Louis, I pass, but it's not, I really, really think, at home, Brews continue to hurt Westy, Peralta keeps the Cards to 3 or under, and win in rather easily fashion tonight.
Like the Brews, at home, at pickem, a lot tonight.
