Definitely more focus on MLs rather than O/Us in the future from now on. They seem to be pretty fluky and I never was a huge fan of them in the past as I recall. I'll admit I got a bit over-confident with that parlay I made. Looking back a $400 bet on a -200 parlay is very -EV...although Cleveland dropping 8 on Sale was the last f'n thing I would have expected. I HOPE you all went HUGE of Verlander...there was no way he was getting crushed two games in a row. Goodnight.

63. Cincinnati Reds ML -150 ($600/$400)...The Big Red Machine will roll today, mark my words. It's my largest bet of the season thus far. I have 3 rock solid reasons. (1) Mat Latos is a beast, fellas. He is a stopper. He won't allow the Reds to be swept by the lousy, stinkin' Pirates. (2) "Philthy" Phil Irwin is making his major league debut for the Pirates. Who? Exactly...He was their 21st round pick out of Ole Miss in the '09 draft (He had Tommy John surgery before pitching for Ole Miss). He's been decent the last four years in the minors, but was called up to make a spot start for the injured Wandy Rodriguez. I read he's got a plus curve ball, but that's about it. No way this guy can weave his way through the nasty Reds offense. No F'n way! (3) And most likely the best reason of all...it's Pete Rose's birthday! Charlie Hustle! How can I not make my largest bet of the season in honor of a world class degen like Pete Rose. I'll drink to that!

As I said earlier in this thread, I started with a $2000 deposit into my 5 Dimes account. I now have $3663. I'm not a professional gambler by any means. I do this for fun. For the past 5 seasons, I've taken my tax return, and used that money to gamble on the MLB season. I have made a very nice profit each year, so I wanted to start this thread because I just found out about SBR a few months ago. I really like the forum and I think I can help you all beat the books. Hopefully this season will be very profitable for everyone here.

I bet $600 on this game because when I am on a nice run and up money, I tend to take bigger risks. I feel this is a extremely justified risk. If I lose, I'll still be +$1000, so it's not the worst scenario in the world. I don't necessarily recommend you bet 15% of your bankroll like I am doing, its just my style and I wouldn't do it any other way. You'll also notice when I'm on a good run, I tend to make a few more bets than normal and also some bigger bets like today. Ya win some, ya lose some. If I go on a losing run, I'll just slow it down a bit until I get hot again...and that ALWAYS happens! riiiight...Goodnight guys

I'll feel a lot better about the Reds if Brandon Phillips is back from the personal issues he is tending to now. I watched most of the game last night and the Reds had base runners all over the place yet could not score. They are 0-25 with runners in scoring position over their last 2 games. I like them today too but may stay away if Phillips is not back.
