    Thoughts on Toronto w.Dickey starting?
What does everyone think about Toronto tomorrow night with Dickie starting vs Cleveland?

    R.A. Dickey Preseason 0-1 9.00 ERA 1.80 Whip

    2012: 20-6 2.73 ERA 1.05 Whip

To be honest this reminds me of the Marlins last year on opening day. Media has really hyped up the Blue Jays. That being said, Cleveland has made improvements as well. I think right now the price is too high on Dickey and would play Cleveland or pass

I went with the Indians and Masterson. Just my feeling that Toronto won't be as great as people think. good luck!!

I will take a small bet on Cleveland- I feel like dickeys not gonna be as successful in the al- I know he got crushed by the Yankees last year

Batista has some beast numbers against masterson....clevland hitters haven't seen much of dickey...I will most likely take Toronto to win at least 1 of the 3 home games like my system plays( was 3-0 yesterday on (A) bets)

Love Over 8.5 in this one....no cold weather like everyone else has to deal with. Toronto has a bunch of sticks and Cleveland has picked up some sticks too. Masterson is shaky....esp vs lefties and Dickey had his fun in the NL but don't see it continuing.

This is gonna be either good or bad for Toronto. Huge hype around the city about this team and if they lose tonight, it will suck the air out. Indians have added some nice pieces and gonna be a tough game for the blue jays. Having said that, Toronto already had a pretty good offence before the new acquistions. If they click, they can put up some big numbers. I am tempted to take the over 8.5

Cleveland picked up Michael Bourne, Nick Swisher, Mark Reynolds, and Drew Stubbs. Reynolds and Stubbs K 200x apiece but they can hit 50 hrs between them and Stubbs can steal 40 or more. Pretty nasty for your 7 and 9 hitters. They're also real excited about the 8 hitter who hit .400 in spring training....can't remember his name. The Indians pitching is still $hit....so expect a ton of Overs from these guys when it warms up a little.

The one thing that really bothers me about Dickey tonight is if he sucks, it will be everyone saying "TOLD YOU HE SUCKS!!! TOLD YOU IT WAS A FLUKE" etc. Dickey is in a shit position and will get no benefit of the doubt, no one will say give him a few starts then judge like a ton of other pitchers will get. Everyone will attack him.

His stats are not that awesome in the Skydome BUT remember, the Skydome is an indoor building with state of the art climate controls, do you really think Toronto would allow Dickey to take advantage of that when pitching against them? No. But how about when pitching for them? ABSOLUTELY.

I also do not think the AL will crush him as everyone is expecting. Wakefield did alright and remember Dickey throws a lot harder then Wakefield did and Dickey has only recently begun to master the pitch, so I honestly think there is still a lot of room for him to improve/stay where he is. I dont see him regressing that quickly.

Toronto is going to sport a huge price, b/c of preseason projections on their win total and overall preception of their offseason pickups. I would rather put money on Boston seeing how they have a great bullpen. Toront's bullpen looks weak as ever, especially w/Jassen down for the time being. I could see this team blowing a lot of leads, and upseting bettors laying bigt prices.

Remember EASports, one thing Gibbons can do well is manage a shit bullpen. Dont be surprised when their bullpen does better than expected. Especially with a bunch of SP that should be going 7ish IP a start.

I agree I think RedSox is the team under the radar I am looking to back early in the season. Toronto is severely over-priced here but not sure if its worth a little bit on Indians or not. Easy game to pass or maybe take Indians +1.5 if it gets to + territory.

No doubt. But how good can your Bullpen be when Darren Oliver's 42 year old ass is making your roster? What a joke, only in baseball.

Darern Oliver was 41 last year and he was rock solid. He was better than the other bums they had. They are hoping for guys Delabar and Santos to carry the load. It is is a gamble, but may pay off.

Its hard to say about dickey at this point- Last year was awesome for him- much respect- but the Al is a different world . Tho it worked for our other knuckle baller for years, but he was prone for shelling s occasionally . Both teams have new line ups so really this is a rough game to predict. Masterson actually pitched well against Toronto last season which was not a good one for him. Tho i think the price on dickey is fairly high but have to also consider the vamped line up as part of that number. If dickey can keep his fire burning because i believe that is was fulled his success last year- he should pitch well today, but I dont have the balls to back him /them nor Cleveland today- The o/@ 8.5 is even iffy so just gonna pass here. GL how ever people my take it. Really i would like dickey to do well this year and silence all the critics. He came into last year after writing a very personal book about his life and some crappy things that happened to him. Thru that he stayed focused and won the CY young with a shitty azz team. Again if the fire is still lit- dickey will be ok this year, but no Cy young- sorry Dickey. maybe 14-15 wins tops - ERA @ very high 3's or into the low 4's. GL luck to him tho- Also with Cleveland they have a nice line up that has the potential to be productive- Swisher and -if Reynolds can bat above 250 he will be a nice addition. I drafted him very late on my fantasy teams this year as a possible power house again. We will see.
