I feel like it helps the starting pitching staff, but the hitters & the team as a whole will lose momentum

Any time that Verlander and pitch Game 1, Game 4 and Game 7 if needed that is a huge huge huge plus. Might keep the hitters rusty, but the pitching and defense should be super sharp, bullpen as well.

Good for their starting pitching. Not to mention it hurts the Giants/Cards SP. If Giants win they will most likely on face Cain once.
