    MLB Trivia - 7/6/06
Thought we might run with some All-Star questions for the next week or so...

Who was the last backstop to be charged with catcher's interference in the Midseason Classic?

Craig Biggio it is, and Molitor was indeed the one who benefitted from Bidge's overanxiousness to receive the pitch from John Smiley. Seventh inning, 1991, at SkyDome.

That was quick. Here is a follow-up question (speaking of Molitor and Biggio).

              What does this list represent?

              1991 - Paul Molitor
              1992 - Tony Phillips
              1993 - Lenny Dykstra
              1994 - Frank Thomas
              1995 - Craig Biggio

Not sure if it's the answer you're looking for, but those were your leaders in runs scored for those seasons. I've got Dykstra's '93 season etched in my brain. Still think he was more valuable that year to the Phils than Bonds was to the Giants.

                  I also remember 93 quite a bit.
The last real pennant race as we used to know them.
I think Braves and Giants both won over 100 games (103 and 102 if I recall|) Your probably right about Lenny Dykstra, he had a monster year but so did Bonds his first year in SF.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Major League runs leaders.

I also have '93 etched in my brain. That was the year Dykstra and his crew (including a dude named "Wild Thing" Williams) had to watch a Joe Carter walk-off home run at Skydome in the last game of the season, as the Blue Jays won their second straight title, with Molitor as the series MVP.
