    Talk about a horrible trade
The New York Mets are reminded of a horrible mistake almost everytime Scott Kazmir or Victor Zambrano take the mound. Kazmir just recently 2-hit the Red Sox in a 3-0 Tampa win and Victor Zambrano is down for the year after having mulitple surgeries on his pitching elbow including Tommy John surgery. Here are the players collective stats since the trade.

    Scott Kazmir
    22-17 record, 3.81 ERA
    2006: 10-5 record, 3.29 ERA

    Victor Zambrano
    10-14 record, 4.43 ERA
    2006: 1-2 record, 6.75 ERA

Almost every team has there Bagwell for Larry Anderson or Doyle Alexander for Smoltz trade that can be looked at in hindsight. However this trade for the mets didnt make sense to me from day one. You have a young kid with a great arm who you just drafted and you are going to trade him to Tampa for a slightly above average pitchter??? I know I read somewhere theat Kazmir wasnt very coachable and you never know what else is going on behind the scenes. But lets say for argument sake that his character sucked....well shouldnt you have uncovered that before you went and spent a number one pick on him? The dude had another 1st round teamate on his high school team so I am sure theese two were scrutinized thouroughly.
