Making it official
This is my first official MLB pick on SBR so I'm hoping it will put some greenbacks in your wallet. I am flipping the script on my leans from earlier today in my other post. I was initially leaning towards Detroit and the Over but upon further review, I'm liking Oakland to win this one.
First off, it's hard to deny the home and away records of these teams (Detroit: 38-43 on the road, Oakland: 50-31 at home). Second, I think I overlooked just how impressive Brett Anderson is. He had a couple of hiccups in his last two outings (which were on the road), but batters are still only hitting .225 against him. At home, this guy has been pretty much unhittable. As much as I like Sanchez's last 2 outings, batters are still hitting .275 against him, and he has a much higher WHIP than Anderson.
With the home field edge and better pitching, I'm on the A's tonight.
