It's September, call ups on garbage teams trying to show they belong. Pro's taking nights off knowing games mean nothing. Tread lightly........ but can still find value

If I remember correctly, last time Astros were down -300 they won, so beware. I think it was a week ago.

Should the Cardinals win? Absolutely. Are they worth -300? Hell no. It's hard enough laying -150 on this team at the moment, but -300? Not a chance in hell I would ever touch that. They have been in a bad slump lately. They were lucky they played a team who is slumping even worse, The Dodgers, last series. No MLB team should be -300, even if it was the streaking #1 team, the Nats, vs the worst team in MLB, the Astros. But instead, it's -300 on a team who is far from #1 and is in a bad, long slump. Seeing the Cardinals get multiple guys in scoring position almost every inning, yet fail to score runs, is extremely frustrating.

The astros have actually been decent lately (6-4 in last 10, 3-1 in last 4), playing competitively in almost every game and even scoring some decent upsets. There was no way they should have beat Cueto and the Reds, yet they did and took the series 2-1. They were a 3-1 dog for that game too, yet won by a score of 5-1.

I'm actually tempted to bet the Astros here. If I bet this game, it would either be the Cardinals RL or the Astros RL or ML. I don't like to bet RLs at odds like -150 and the Astros are still the Astros, so I will likely pass altogether.

I just hope people aren't actually laying -300 on the Cardinals ML. The RL I can understand, but that ML is not even worth considering.

The Cardinals are easily worth -300 in this spot. Am I betting this game nah but I can be pretty confident the cardinals are going to smash the astros

                    Astros beat Cueto @ -320.

Cards haven't been good lately, Astros have.

*Lohse, imo is one of the best pitchers in the game.
                    *Ahbad sucks.

*Stros will be on the road where they're not nearly as good.

To lay that chalk is just plain stupid but I don't see how the Stros win this game. I'll probably go RL or Stros TT Under 3 (but I can see that garage pen blowing both of these if the Cards don't jump out in front early though).

Agreed. I'm thinking this is likely a low scoring game. Lohse should limit the Astros from scoring much and since the Cardinals offense has been dreadful lately, they shouldn't score much either. I'm thinking we see the Cardinals win something like 3-2 or 4-2 unless there is a bullpen blowup. One swing of the bat can be the difference in any game, but even more so in a low-scoring one, like this could be. The under is tempting, but both bullpens have issues.

This game practically screams "pass," no matter what angle you look at it.

Also, the Cardinals were on a streak of 23-12 but are 6-13 since and 3-8 in their last 11 games.

The Astros had an awful 6-36 streak, but since then, are 8-7 including 6-4 in their last 10 games and 3-1 in their last 4.

As you can see, these are clearly 2 teams on very different streak right now. The Cardinals were doing great but have since gotten worse and worse as time goes on. Meanwhile, the Astros were doing horrible but have been doing better and better.

Again, yes, the Cardinals SHOULD win. The question is if there is value on a badly slumping team who has had massive difficulty scoring at -300 or the run line at -155. Or, is there value on the streaking team who has been scoring well at +250?

All that said, this MLB where nothing seems to make sense and trends/stats only get you so far. So, the Cardinals will probably miraculously get out of their slump win with a score of like 20-0.
