Strongly believe that Lebron is going back to the Cavs and that it will be announced early next week. Might end up looking dumb here but this is why we gamble. I just took some 20 minutes ago at +2650... went to look again and now it's +2000.

#4A friend of mine told me that Lebron has told the Heat that he's not coming back. This friend played in the NBA and is very well in the know with guys like Paul, Maverick Carter, WWW, etc. If he isn't coming back to the Heat then it may be a very high chance that he comes back to Cleveland. His wife tweeted being homesick and some other beat reporter (can't think who it was but it wasn't Windhorst) also posted that Miami is out of the picture.
I personally don't think Lebron has decided anything yet. I think in the end it's either Cleveland or Miami. I think when he really thinks about it, he will feel that anywhere else will make him a villain again or a ring chaser that can hurt his legacy. The lure of young guys in Cleveland should be very strong but it's more of a risk versus staying in Miami another year, watch what the young guys in Cleveland amount to, then leave next year. That's the safe move.Comment -

#9Neither one of them would appreciate their names splashed on a degenerates site.
I really don't think Lebron would have already told the Heat his intentions but that's what my friend told me. Should be a very interesting week.

#14Lebron era is done. Unless he goes on a team already surrounded with talent, he will not win a championship. Cleveland is not one of those places. Also no Cleveland team will ever win, their management sucks.

#21Why not? The East is horseshit. Any team Lebron goes to in the East becomes instant favorites. Who is going to compete with Cleveland? Indiana? Please. Chicago? I doubt it. Washington? Maybe? But, the East is so bad that he can instantly make a team favored to win that conference.

The Cavs were without 90% of the players they had in 2009.
Lebron gone, Mo Will gone, Delonte West gone, Shaq gone, Hickson gone, Danny Green gone, BigZ gone, Moon gone, Powe gone, Telfair gone, Verajao injured.
Parker and Jamison were the 2 guys left over. Good luck winning games with those 2. The Cav's went to tank mode midway into the season as it became clear that they needed to rebuild.
It's very disingenuous to try and compare 2009 Cavaliers with 2010 Cavs and say they were the same team that just lost Lebron. That is very far from the truth. I know it makes Lebron look like the hero but the Cav's built their entire team around Lebron. What do you think would happen when he left into the sunset?
And don't believe for 1 minute that Lebron is coming back to Cleveland. It's all a PR move to try and garner some sympathy from fans. He has zero intentions of going back to Cleveland apart from his house in Akron which he doesn't claim as Cleveland anyway. I know several people that are in his enterouge. It ain't happening. He either reups in Miami or look to big market LA, NY or Chicago.I know several people close to LBJ. They know him very well and he is in no way seriously contemplating ever returning to the Cavs. He's been there done that. He's already told them he stays in Miami or go to bigger things (Lakers, NY or Chicago). He will spend summers at home in Akron but that's it. He doesn't like the cold weather and prefers to only be in Ohio when it's warm but I guess he would concede for NY and Chicago.
All the stuff in the news is just smokescreens...Last edited by MoneyLineDawg; 07-05-14, 03:05 PM.Comment -

#26Why would he want to go back to Clev after the way the fans treated him after he left? They acted as if they owned him forever. Would be crazy to leave Miami , which has went to four straight finals, and can do something historical there .Comment -

#33You can flip a coin on where Lebron is going. The guy has the personality to wake up one morning... think of one team.... wake up the next morning and choose a different team.
Dan Gilbert... one solid business man. I believe he has the type of personality to let the anger and hate go. Remember how furious he was when Lebron left. A true entrepreneur has a business mind... and never lets emotions get the best of him. The issue is... Lebron would never go back to Cleveland. I don't care where he's from... what school he went to... any of that stuff. He knows his a traitor. No way he'll go back to Cleveland.Comment -

#35You never really know what these guys do behind closed doors. Gilbert could have called Lebron after the decision and warned him that he would rake him over the coals with the comic sans email. All in order to appease Cleveland fans and create a villain in Lebron. Controversy sure did ramp up that off season and created a Heat versus the world. I personally thought Gilbert should have taken the high road and only say nice things about Lebron and tell the fans how much Lebron meant to him and that he was like a son to him and although he is hurt for losing a son, that he respected his decision and only wanted the best for Lebron even if that meant not in Cleveland. Had Gilbert done that, Lebron would have been an even bigger villain but Gilbert kind of took a lot of the brunt of the decision away. He actually helped Lebron with that rant. It could have been all a game and all planned in the 11th hour.
Either way, Gilbert is no dummy, neither is Lebron. Both will do business with each other if it makes sense. Gilbert has already done some business type stuff with Lebron just recently. I don't know all the details but they have been working together anyway.
You never forget where you come from. No matter how green the grass is on the other side. I grew up in Cleveland. I haven't lived there in decades but it is always home. I could divorce my wife, leave my kids and best friends BUT I could never leave my Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians. Home is home.
