2015 NBA Finals • Golden State vs. Cleveland

    Personal Note:
i have never done this, as i think it is quite difficult,
and usually the person who makes the prediction emerges looking quite silly.

However, this is what it looks like to me, and i just wanted to post it.

Golden St. Talented, young, fast... 3-Pt. machine.. they pass the ball and fast-break.
this is the look of the new NBA (imo) big centers are no longer the focal point.
When you have a guy like Klay Thompson who is a FA next year..
it only makes them play harder and faster. Barring injury at year's end to Curry
or Thompson, i like this team to sneak past OKC.. Jazz need a couple more years.

Kerr looks like he hit the ground running and is a bit of a 3-PT specialist himself, so great fit with the coaching, it is what he likes, as well he can personally coach that shot, as he is quite proficient in this area.

    Cleveland (same as above)
Talented, young, fast... 3-Pt. machine.. they pass the ball and fast-break.
EXCEPT they all rebound like mad. Love, Lebron, Varejao, difficult to win the Reb-war..
the only team that went all the way, losing the Reb-war was Miami, and that is because they shot 50% as a team for the season.

PLUS, the Cavs have: (according to ESPN)
    No.1 LEbron, and the
No.7 (Love), as well as the
    No. 23 Irving (undervalued?)

I think the coach will grow as well, because Lebron does not challenge his coaches,
he has no insecurity issues regarding who is perceived as the boss. Spoelstra grew into a great during the four years the Heat went to the Finals. Spoelstra knows what he is doing now, young as he is.

i think Cleveland wins this matchup in the Finals, if it should come to pass.

    The "NO"List

Spurs will fall off considerably, i find it shocking that all the GMs picked the Spurs to repeat. (wtf?) Why would they do that? Pop has only ever been to the Finals in consecutive years ONCE. (the last two)..

Leonard is great, but he really caught fire at the right time..
but he can't carry that team.. they are pretty dang old.

OKC I think Duarant might have an off year after such a stellar one last year, setting that absurd record of 41 games with 25 pts or over. That is unbelievable, but i think he may just be a spot more reserved this season, (bad start already) him being out with the fracture. Impossible for them to reach Finals, unless he has stellar year.

LA Clippers That Sterling drama really messed 'em up.. it cost them that series, just to much unrest, may take them a year to refocus, still great talent, all around, but more flash and less pure 'big picture' winners.. they seem focused on flashy alley-oops too much.

Bulls are overrated (imo) let's see if Rose can remain injury free for the entire season.. i see that he takes too many shots, and is trying to score too much. As required it is good.. but not most of the time for a PG..

.. and what was the GM thinking bringing in a washed-up Gasol?!!?. I like him very much, kool guy, was a great shot once. But very large people like him, age and deteriorate earlier than smaller men. He is 34 yrs. old, 7-Ft. and dead slow on Defense. Speed and athleticism, 3-PT shooting is the name of the new NBA.. and he does not fit the bill in any of these categories. Mistake to fill that slot with a slow big man. it won't help you out-rebound the Cavs.

anyways, there is my pick, after watching the pre-season thus far..

let's see how it all plays out.

best luck to everybody, may your wallet swell like the tide coming in.

I have been thinking along these lines as well...there is somthing cookin in Golden State...you can see it on Klay and Curry's faces...Klay is playing for a contract so he will not let up...Curry is trying to prove he is just as good as Lebron offensively...Kerr learned from the master Phil..I don't see how this team can fail...barring another Bogut/David Lee injury plagued season...

great point in the Bogut/David Lee.. that could happen, seems something always does happen to Bogut

but Klay is going to kill it. When somebody deserves a contract, and doesn't get one.. watch out

they are on all cylinders looks like to me..

90-95 games in.. which team in the West will be faster? no one i expect

MAvs is a great pick here.. their scoring is so balanced.
I should have considered them more.

only prob is Dirk.. will he be fresh after 90+ games?
they can't go all the way without his accuracy

WOW.. maybe Dirk vs. Lebron II

Meanwhile, Kobe scored almost half the points on 12-28 shooting...Ratzz...keep in mind Thompson was only ranked 2 spots ahead of Kobe in their NBA player rankings...

    Klay Thompson 2014 2015 Salary - $3,075,880
    Kobe Bryant 2014 2015 Salary - $23,500,000

Is there something wrong with this picture ? LOL

    Klay scored 2.27 Pts/shot taken

i just wanted to mention that pretty late in the game..
it look like the Blazers were gonna pull this out.

with 00:46 seconds left.. it was 90-88 Portland.

7 pts in 46 secs to close out the game.. this guys are looking good.. and i am liking my pick more and more.

GSW staying hot.. can't wait to see the game vs. HOUSTON... there is an article out on ESPN Insider (i would never pay for sports cov.)
but the position is that the Rockets are better 'without' Parsons...

it appears to be the case thus far..

i am keeping an eye not them.. enjoying the Warriors so far..

not only great, but f8ck-ass fun to watch

Well Ariza despite being older is an improvement over Parsons...but that may change over the course of the season as I suspect Ariza could go down...but as it appears...Rockets look great...and the Warriors are clicking on all cylinders..Its one of those years where boys become men....new champion gets crowned this year...

Menses, clicking on all cylinders is right.. these cats are insane
    could be NBA's best..

super-talented, and super athletic... how to counter this bunch?
    and Lee was out..

i know Dwight out.. so we will have to wait to draw a verdict.. but still impressive

these new defensive schemes are starting to kick in...
Lebron made his case for everyone playing hard 'D'

i like what i am seeing..

i know it is only the Pacers..
but Washington was 9-3 going into their game vs. Cavs

    looking good

Until Cavs start beating teams with winning records and title aspirations...it is fools gold for me....Kyrie and them kids have bad habits that are hard to break...i want to see a month of solid defense...before I purchase any more Cavalier stock...LOL

    interesting and recent development:

Longest active win streak in the East: Cleveland (6 Games)

Longest active win streak in the West: Golden St. (11 Games)

this will change likely next two games..
    but interesting nevertheless

Golden St. 12 games... 17-2 overall..
    better than i expected, even

they have legs.. and shooting.. coaching... bases pretty much covered.

    Kerr made the RIGHT pick...
almost signed with Knicks. Smart man

    however. Nobody better than Popovich.
interesting to see how this plays out vs. the Spurs

I still like GSW in a series.

Ratzz....I will tell you something...and I usually never do this...but if this team can reach 20 straight...I will re-consider my position on another team in the modern day era winning 70 games....this team has something to prove...and the motivation to do something special....that is a dangerous combination....

    i agree, Menses

tremendous team, very well rounded.. they had a bad 3Q and bounced right back in the 4th
they hardly have a bad Half... just a bad Quarter every 3-4 games... very complete team..

Kerr doing great job.. the big advances this year so far for successful clubs appear to be on the 'D' end.
It also takes so much pressure off the act of shooting.. guys appear to be much more loose

i hope they all stay healthy, drag for an injury to mess with the formula

    WTF?

when is Golden St. going to lose...?! this is crazy, man

this team does not have bad Halves.. they only have a bad Quarter every now and again.
    then storm right back..

they are wild.. what a team.. could this team go on a crazy run like Miami in 2012-13 season? (27 Games)

    should be interesting to watch

    serious?.. as a coach 0%

as a player he has Five Rings.

i expect he will do fine. Doing well so far.

I am not saying he will out coach Pop. Not many really do that.
    Spoelstra was the last.

but i do think that the Warriors will outplay and have more legs late in the season than the Spurs.

Well there is always the possibility that the Warriors may peak too soon in the regular season...however...boys eventually put away childish things and become men...it may very well be their turn this year...the team is leaving it all on the floor as of late...on both sides of it....and they have depth....Memphis is the only team who may have a chance...outside of the Spurs of stopping them...
