    SBR Donation Drive - your help needed!!!

    So I did this a while back - years ago now (http://www.sportsbookreview.com/foru...ollection.html) - and it was a great result - we raised about a grand right before the holidays. I really think we as a group can do more - but I know its not always easy to drop 500 points on a charity at once - so this is where the power of crowd-funding comes in. You can give 1,2,10, 20, whatever number of points and it will accumulate until we have enough to buy a donation, we will make the donation and start again. I will hold points until we have enough to make a donation and will buy the donation through the store. Right now I plan on splitting between Red Cross and St. Judes unless someone has a strong objection to that. If you really want your points going to Drs w/o Borders – reply to this thread that is where you want those points going and I will hold them until we get enough to make a donation there as well.

    Non-Pro's - there is NO REASON not to throw the 2 pts you are allowed to transfer a day to this - you obviously get something by coming to this site so give a little back!!

    Pro's - just give me 10 points a week - if you log-in daily, you get 70 - use 60 for whatever you want and throw 10 at a charity, or 5 or even 1 - every little bit really does help!!!

    To try and get the ball rolling - if we can get 25 different posters to give at least 2 points between now and Sept 8 - I will match the total donations up to 1,000 points. I will post this in a few different forums - I do ask the mods to leave this in players talk as this is a good thing for the site as well!!!

    In case anyone is worried I am going to take the points and run, I have over 15k points right now that I have no idea what I will do with, and BTP is just starting which was profitable for me last year, so I am definitely not going anywhere nor do I "need" the points - this is truly a philanthropic attempt on my part. Will answer any questions I can – but would love to see us get this going for a few months and see how much we can donate!!!

    938 points in less then 12 hours - awesome!! Will make first donation today for sure!! By my count we have 9 different posters donating anywhere between 2 and 500 points - you guys are awesome for that!! 62 points away from $60 worth of donations and that doesn't include the amount I will match if we can get 16 more posters to give at least 1 point each to any of these threads!!

    I will definitely try and keep this going through football - that is my goal - see how much we can collect and donate between now and the holidays. While I will do everything I can to cash that BTP for you - it takes a lot of luck as well as skill - skill can get you in the running but to cash that first place prize really takes a lot of games going your way over the season.

    I know its early and this has only been up for a few hours yet - but do know that last time I did this, the bulk of the points came from the politics forum! While we all may have different political views, I think the one thing we all agree on is that voluntarily giving to those in need is a worthwhile endeavor!!!

    This is the last time I will bump on night. Thanks to ALL who have donated so far!!!!

    1,208 collected in less than 24 hours. Imputes to almost $73 raised in a very short time and can't help but think we have only scratched the surface as far as those who will be willing to give!!
