It's a title neither side seems particularly interested in: third place at the 2026 World Cup. But, 22 players will take the pitch on Saturday and I'm here with my favorite France vs. England anytime goal scorer predictions for the tournament's penultimate game.

Rayan Cherki (+240)
Most bettors will turn toward Kylian Mbappe here, and despite him still being in the Golden Boot race, his odds are just a little bit too long for me at -150. So, I'm going to turn to a flashy teammate who should pick up a start in a heavily rotated French side that offers much better odds.
Cherki only has four starts for the national team in his career, and two of those were friendlies. Every minute he's logged in the World Cup has been on the bench, and been mostly without fanfare. He's mustered just a couple of shots, so I'd get why there would be skepticism here.
But the motivations will be very different for both teams on Saturday. Cherki has shown flashes of brilliance for his domestic side, Manchester City, in the Premier League, netting 10 times for the Citizens across all competitions last year. He's logged multiple shots in the only two starts he's made for Les Bleus where stats were kept, so he won't be afraid to let loose on Saturday.

Marcus Rashford (+350)
What a return to form for Rashford, who joined Barcelona last year on loan from Manchester United, posting eight goals and even assists across 32 La Liga appearances. Since posting 17 goals in 2022-23 it has been a couple of quieter seasons for Rashford. Unfortunately, it hasn't fully translated into success at the World Cup.
Rashford scored off the bench in England's opener versus Croatia, but that was his last goal contribution. In starts vs. Panama (90 minutes) and Congo DR (60 minutes) he failed to score, but he did log eight shots with two on target.
On Saturday he'll be expected to play high up the pitch against a heavily rotated French backline. He won't need England to dominate possession (which is good, because they probably won't), but he'll be able to get off plenty of opportunities in transition. This number has his scoring about 22% of the time, but my modeling puts him closer to 28%, so there's good value here.
