After losing on penalties last time out, France must be champing at the bit to get to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and looking to set the story straight. Didier Deschamps leads one of the most impressive sides on the world stage into battle, and his resume is loaded with impressive finishes on the world stage: in 2014, they reached the quarter-finals; in 2018, they won the whole thing; and in 2022, they finished runners-up.

So, it's no surprise that the France World Cup odds are amongst the shortest in the tournament, sitting at +500. And, with Kylian Mbappe leading the way, they might just pay that off.

🏆 France World Cup 2026 predictions and best bets

To reach the final (+300)

I've been pretty timid about my predictions, often erring on the side of safety. That ends with this France team. I like France to reach the final with the excellent price of +300, but I'll also have France to reach the semi-final at +140. I don't see a stumbling block for this team along the way, even though they're likely to face some excellent squads (England and Brazil are prime candidates).

It's just that France has the best attacking team in the world, headlined by Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, and I think they can keep pace with any team in the world. The youth of Michael Olise, Bradley Barcola, Rayan Cherki, and Desire Doue is just a cherry on top. It's going to be Deschamps' final tournament, and anything short of a trip to the final will be a disappointment in his swan song.
