Arsenal ML (-143)
Expect Arsenal’s defense to be the difference in Sunday’s heavyweight bout.
The Gunners have suffocated teams defensively so far this season, registering 0.5 expected goals over two games against Coventry City and Aston Villa. Their defense, which hasn’t conceded a goal yet, has been so good that teams have struggled to get close to goalkeeper David Raya, who’s only faced one shot on target.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s defense has been lackluster despite the team’s perfect start to the season. Coach Xabi Alonso’s team, which conceded five goals during its two wins over Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion, is likely to struggle against an Arsenal attack that has weapons to exploit defensive deficiencies.
Score prediction: Arsenal 2, Chelsea 0
📡 SBR EDGE
Arsenal and Chelsea matchups have been a one-sided affair this decade. Chelsea made a habit of winning these London derbies during and after Jose Mourinho’s initial reign as the team’s manager. But the tide began to change in 2020. Since then, Arsenal have only lost one of their last 16 meetings with Chelsea. It’s gotten so bad for Chelsea that they’ve been pummeled by an aggregate score of 11-2 during their last four losing trips to North London. Yikes.

Both teams to score: No (+120)
Arsenal look set to have one of the top defenses in the Premier League again after opening the season with back-to-back clean sheets. Along with allowing the fewest expected goals of any Premier League club, Arsenal have also allowed the fewest shots (11) and fewest shots on target (1) over two games. And they’re doing this without one of their cornerstone defenders, William Saliba.
Given that Arsenal have dominated possession (62.4%) this season, chances will be limited for a Chelsea team that’s only seen 32% of the ball over their first two league games.
Bukayo Saka anytime goal or assist (-120)
Arsenal have plenty of attacking options who can cause problems for Chelsea. Kai Havertz is always a threat to punish his former team, while Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori have enjoyed bright starts to the season.
But nobody’s hotter than Arsenal’s talisman, Bukayo Saka, who’s scored decisive goals in the team’s first two games of the season.
The English winger has looked sharper in an attacking scheme that’s seemingly been designed to give him more freedom in the final third. With Arsenal’s full-backs venturing higher up the pitch this season, Saka is thriving thanks to smart off-the-ball movement that consistently gets him into dangerous areas around the box.
