The Montreal Canadiens have the Eastern Conference Final in their sights as they look to eliminate the Buffalo Sabres in Game 6 on Saturday night.
My Sabres vs. Canadiens prediction for Game 6 offers a game pick and best bet to target for the matchup, plus my favorite Juraj Slafkovsky player prop. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. ET from the Bell Center in Montreal (ABC, ESPN, Sportsnet, CBC), with the Canadiens a -160 home betting favorite to close out the series.

š Who will win Sabres vs. Canadiens?
I'm taking the Canadiens to win Game 6 by a score of 4-2 to clinch the series victory on home ice. The Sabres are out of goaltending moves after pulling Alex Lyon for Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen before going back to Lyon at the end of Game 5 after Luukkonen allowed five goals on 23 shots. I don't have faith in whoever starts in net for Buffalo on Saturday night. All three Montreal wins in this series have been by multiple goals.
Score prediction: Canadiens 4, Sabres 2
š° Sabres vs. Canadiens prediction & best bet
Under 6.5 (-120)
While we've seen a couple of high-scoring games in this series, the Under is 3-2. And if you include the regular-season contests between the Sabres and Canadiens, six of the nine games in this matchup have finished Under 6.5 goals in 2025-26.
The Sabres' offense in particular has gone cold, averaging just 2.6 goals in the series. I foresee a tight-checking game from the Canadiens after they take the lead on Saturday night.
The opening total of six gave me some pause, but the total moving up to 6.5 made the Under an easy decision for me, even if Montreal pads its lead late with an empty-netter. I placed my bet on Under 6.5 at bet365's market-best -120 odds.
š„ Best Sabres vs. Canadiens player prop bet
Juraj Slafkovsky Over 0.5 power-play points (+190)
Only the Ducks have converted more on the man advantage this postseason than the Canadiens, and Juraj Slafkovsky has been Montreal's top point-getter on the power play. He's tied for the playoff lead with eight power-play points.
Five of those have come in this series against the Sabres, with Slafkovsky logging a power-play point in all but one game versus Buffalo. That unit is rolling, and the former No. 1 overall pick is a significant reason why.
BetMGM offers the top value among the best sports betting sites on this player prop at +190 odds, but there's value up to +175.
š Sabres vs. Canadiens same-game parlay
Iām combining the Canadiens' puck line with Under 6.5 to create a two-leg parlay at bet365's +377 odds. All three of Montreal's victories versus the Sabres have been by multiple goals, while most games in this series have finished Under 6.5
💵 Sabres vs. Canadiens SGP picks
- Canadiens -1.5 (+160)
- Under 6.5 (-120)
Best odds: +377 via bet365 (0.2u -> 0.75u)

š” How I'm betting Sabres vs. Canadiens
Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.
My most confident play (Under 6.5) is getting a full-unit wager, while I'm betting my usual 0.5 units on my favorite player prop for this matchup (Slafkovsky Over 0.5 power-play points).
I'm slightly less confident betting the Canadiens to cover the puck line, which is why that wager is receiving 0.5 units from me, but the victories have been dominant when Montreal has won in this series. That makes it a better play than the Canadiens' moneyline. Bankroll management is crucial in sports betting, so be smart with yours.
