Kendrick Lamar will return to the Super Bowl halftime show stage in 2025, this time as the headliner of Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.

Katy Perry danced with Left Shark, Prince played Purple Rain in the pouring rain, and Rhianna returned to the stage for the first time in five years. Super Bowl halftime shows are iconic, mesmerizing performances, and some people tune in specifically to watch the show.

Super Bowl betting goes well beyond the game, and with the halftime show serving as one of the most popular novelty markets, we're breaking down the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show prop bets with NFL odds from our best Super Bowl betting sites.

After opening as a +2300 long shot to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime at Caesars Superdome in February, Lamar was chosen as the halftime show headliner.

Regardless of who you have in your Super Bowl predictions or what you think of the Super Bowl odds, the halftime show will be appointment viewing.

Who will headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show?

Kendrick Lamar

Lamar had been listed at +2300 to be the Super Bowl halftime show performer in February. A winning $10 bet would've returned a profit of $230.

FanDuel (Ontario) quickly released odds for who will perform the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, with hometown rapper Lil Wayne as the early favorite. However, the market is currently off the board ahead of the preseason.

Number of songs performed during the halftime show

Most of our best sports betting apps were offering Usher's song total at 8.5, and he cruised Over that number while performing 12 or 13 total songs (depending on the stipulations from your sportsbook of choice).

Following Usher's performance, the last time a halftime show performer went Under 8.5 songs was in 2017 when Lady Gaga's setlist featured only seven songs. In fact, from 2010 to 2017, only Beyonce in 2013 went Over that total.

We've seen a real shift from halftime show artists performing nearly full versions of songs to doing more of a true medley since Jay-Z and Roc Nation began producing the show in 2020. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira combined to perform 15 songs, The Weeknd performed nine, Dr. Dre and Co. performed 11, and Rihanna also performed 11.

Special guest performer

The special guest performer market proved to be a tricky one to navigate in 2024, as two of Usher's guests - H.E.R. and Jermaine Dupri - weren't even listed as options at our best sportsbooks

Meanwhile, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Lil Jon were all trading at extremely short odds either immediately upon being listed or shortly thereafter. That shows how quickly you need to act in a market like this one.

First song

This is arguably the most popular halftime show market, along with the last song, and it featured plenty of ups and downs last year.

Despite "My Way" serving as the favorite for much of the buildup and "Yeah!" becoming a public front-runner, Usher kicked off the performance with "Caught Up." That moved to the favorite position at some of our sites with the best sportsbook promos on the Sunday of the Super Bowl.

Last song

Similar to the first song market, this one was a bit of a roller-coaster. But "Yeah!" acted as the finale after featuring among the favorites for much of the time leading up to the Super Bowl.

First word(s) odds

This is an interesting market for those who think they hold an edge on the first song but believe those odds are too short. You can instead try to predict the artist's first words based on that song.

Usher's first word for the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show was "I'm."

Number of collaborations odds

Similarly, bettors who think they know various guests will make an appearance during the show can target this market if the odds on those specific guests are too short.

Most of the best live betting sites had set this number at 2.5 for the 2024 show after Rihanna featured no guests in 2023. Usher cruised Over that number with six total guests.

How to bet on Super Bowl halftime

What are halftime show prop bets?

A halftime show prop bet is a wager made on an outcome of the Super Bowl halftime show. The most prominent halftime show prop bet markets tend to center around which song will be performed first or whether there will be a special guest at any time during the performance.

How do I make a halftime show prop bet?

Making a halftime show prop bet is a breeze!

Simply go to your sports betting site of choice and look for the "Super Bowl" menu. Within there, you should see an exhaustive list of submenu options; look for either the "Halftime Show" option or, if you don't see one, try the "Exotics" menu (or something similarly worded).

If you don't see a halftime show prop bet option available, it's possible that the sportsbook you're using doesn't offer these markets. And that makes it the perfect time to consider signing up for a new sports betting site!

Is it legal to bet on the Super Bowl halftime show?

Betting markets on the Super Bowl halftime show are not provided by U.S. legal sports betting sites. You must be located outside the United States to participate in these markets.

How to read Super Bowl halftime show odds

Reading Super Bowl halftime show odds is straightforward. Odds are usually presented in a format like +500 or -200. Positive odds (e.g., +500) show how much profit you’d make on a $100 bet.

For example, a $100 bet at +500 odds would win you $500, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $600. Negative odds (e.g., -200) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $200 bet at -200 odds would win you $100, plus your $200 stake, totaling $300.

These odds also reflect the probability of a particular Super Bowl halftime show outcome. Lower odds (e.g., +300) suggest a higher likelihood, while higher odds (e.g., +2000) indicate a lower probability. Sportsbooks adjust these odds based on news, inside rumors, and betting patterns.
