It’s a high-profile Thursday Night Football matchup between last year’s two No. 1 seeds, with the Denver Broncos hosting the Seattle Seahawks. My Seahawks vs. Broncos prediction backs the home underdogs in this possible Super Bowl preview, citing Seattle's tough situational spot on a short week. Read on to learn why I expect the historic underdog run in primetime games to continue.

Kickoff from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver is set for 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video). Seattle is a 2.5-point betting favorite.

Seahawks vs. Broncos prediction & best bet

Broncos +2.5 (-102 via FanDuel)

Seattle is 12-1 against AFC teams under head coach Mike Macdonald and hasn't lost back-to-back games since 2024. But this is a tough spot for the Seahawks after a deflating divisional home loss to the 49ers, while the Broncos won convincingly despite only managing 224 yards last week.

The Seahawks’ turnover issues are becoming crippling. Sam Darnold has thrown five interceptions since returning from injury in Week 3, and the team is tied for the most turnovers in the league over that span. Meanwhile, Denver’s defense forced three turnovers in the fourth quarter alone last week and could turn the tide in this game with more turnover fortune.

In a game that projects to be close, I will back a Broncos team that has won 13 straight one-score games.

📡 SBR Edge: Prime-time underdogs

Underdogs have won seven straight games outright in prime-time at night, the longest such streak since the merger.

Don't count out Bo Nix

Bo Nix has averaged 5.8 yards per attempt this season, which ranks 28th out of 31 qualified quarterbacks. The lack of a downfield passing threat is a big reason why the Broncos are in the bottom 10 of offensive success rate, EPA per play, yards per play, and points per drive.

However, I expect positive regression from Nix in the second game since head coach Sean Payton returned to play-calling duties. Nix is 10-0 in his last 10 games against NFC opponents since Week 3 of 2024, with 26 passing and rushing touchdowns and just three turnovers. Nix is also never out of a game, having already led three fourth-quarter comebacks this season.

Score prediction: Broncos 21, Seahawks 17
