The Philadelphia Eagles hope to win their first NFL preseason game since 2019 as they head to Cleveland to face the Browns. Here are our best Eagles-Browns picks to make ahead of Sunday’s tilt.

The NFL preseason has been frustrating for the Eagles in recent years. Philly has only two preseason wins since 2018 — with head coach Nick Sirianni sporting an 0-3-1 record since he took the reigns. Last week was especially tough to watch as the Eagles scored only seven points in the final three quarters, leading to a 24-21 loss to the New York Jets.

On the other side of the card, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is 4-0 in preseason action since stepping into his role in 2020 (the 2020 preseason was canceled). Cleveland will look to get quarterback Jacoby Brissett on the field as much as possible in order to ensure he’s ready to be the starter in place of Deshaun Watson for the first 10 weeks.

Here are our Eagles-Browns NFL picks for preseason Week 2 (odds via Caesars Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook).

Eagles vs. Browns Odds Analysis

The Over/Under is fairly modest for this matchup, opening at 38.5 before dropping to its current total of 35.5. The distribution of tickets is close to even with 55% banking on the Over; however, 91% of the cash is on the Under.

The spread hasn’t moved too much since opening at -2.5 in favor of the Eagles. Philly is now a 3-point favorite, but most football bettors are wagering on the preseason juggernaut Browns with 87% of the tickets and 97% of the cash taking the underdog to lose by less than 3 (or win outright).

Eagles vs. Browns ATS Pick

Browns ML (+130)

One advantage NFL bettors have ahead of this showdown is recent videos and data from the pair of joint practices held between the Brown and Eagles this past week. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver DeVonta Smith showed good chemistry, with Smith burning several of Cleveland’s defensive backs.

That said, one major standout was the Browns’ continued physicality. Philly simply couldn’t hang at times as Cleveland’s offense and defense were giving their all when it came to blocks and tackles. The Eagles are also banged up going into Sunday as running backs Miles Sanders and Boston Scott will be held out. Wide receiver Zach Pascal is also expected to sit.

Eagles vs. Browns O/U Pick

Over 35.5 (-115)

These teams shouldn’t struggle to hit the Over this week. Both play with good pace and the game script could quickly turn into a shootout. With injuries to key defensive players on each side, explosive receivers such as Cleveland’s Anthony Schwartz and Philly’s Jalen Reagor will have much less difficulty piling up points as well.

The average quality of the quarterbacks also adds to the safety of betting the Over. Although the Browns project to give Brissett a large portion of the snaps, third and fourth-strings Josh Rosen and Joshua Dobbs had promising preseason debuts and should be able to carry their weight. For the Eagles it’s unknown whether or not Hurts will see reps again; however, second and third-stringers Gardner Minshew and Reid Sinnett also performed well last week.
