My Texas vs. Oklahoma same-game parlay sees a rock fight in the Red River Rivalry, as No. 1 Texas lacks the offensive chops to pull away from an Oklahoma defense that still commands respect, despite the Sooners’ early struggles to win.
Texas is lined as a 7.5-point betting favorite ahead of kickoff off from Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

Best Texas vs. Oklahoma SGP & parlay picks
Under 39.5 (-115)
Though to different degrees of team success, these two rivals have approached their seasons in similar manners to the extent that their offenses have lagged behind the quality of their defenses. Both Texas and Oklahoma rank among the top 5 defenses nationally in adjusted efficiency, per FPI.
The Longhorns and Sooners also enter this matchup with Overs going just 1-3 in their respective games to this point. DraftKings lists the total at 39.5 points, a point to the good for Under bettors compared to the offering at Fanduel (38.5).
Oklahoma +7.5 (-110)
Oklahoma’s offense has been abysmal, but we’re leaning on the notion of the Sooners No. 4 adjusted defensive efficiency in the country playing inspired in a rivalry setting.
The Longhorns actually rank fourth in their own state (behind Houston, North Texas and Texas State) in adjusted offensive efficiency, so this matchup could play out closer than most folks would expect, and without Oklahoma needing to contribute a ton offensively to accomplish it. Texas has won its two Power Four games by a combined four points.
Lloyd Avant 30+ rushing yards (-109)
While I liked the Oklahoma team rushing line (Over 70.5 yards) on FanDuel, we’re looking to play this parlay at DraftKings, where the game total sits a little higher. Backing Lloyd Avant’s rushing output on DK is probably a more streamlined way to accomplish our view of how Oklahoma will look to run its offense to stay in the fight.
Texas is stout against the run (18th nationally in yards per game allowed), but has allowed all four of its opposing lead rushers to eclipse a 30-yard rushing mark. Avant has cleared the line in two of four games.
