Darian Mensah, QB, Miami: 240+ passing yards (-114 via DraftKings)
In Stanford’s Week 0 win over Hawaii, the Cardinal defense limited the opposing rushing attack to just 46 yards. But Stanford seems to have the same secondary weakness that landed them second from the bottom in pass defense among FBS programs a year ago.
The Cardinal surrendered 279 passing yards in the opener, and Mensah is a tough quarterback for a pass-funnel defense to face. Mensah averaged 283.7 passing yards per game last season with Duke, clearing this passing line in 10 of 14 contests.

Malachi Toney, WR, Miami: 72+ receiving yards (-111 via DraftKings)
Toney cleared this receiving yardage line in 8 out of 15 games as a true freshman last season and should settle into a role as a focal point of the Miami passing attack this year.
Given my expectation for Mensah to dice through a lackluster Stanford pass defense, Toney’s yardage should correlate. Though he only piled up 52 yards against the Cardinal in last year’s matchup, Miami rolling to a 35-point win decreased the necessity of his contributions.
I expect a somewhat closer game script (Miami -24.5) should keep Toney relevant for long enough to hit this mark. Take this prop at DraftKings vs. the line of 74.5 yards (-114) at FanDuel.
Cooper Barkate, WR, Miami: Over 4.5 receptions (-132 via FanDuel)
Barkate was a magnet to the football as a quality receiving outlet for Mensah when the duo suited up for Duke last season. He followed his quarterback to Miami and should be on the same page with Mensah from the word go this season.
While Toney is more likely to break a big play, Barkate’s receptions total is my lean for this prop as the senior wideout finds space in the defense with frequency. He cleared 4.5 receptions in 8 out of 14 games last season.
