Indiana vs. Nebraska Prediction: Week 6 Odds, Picks & Best Bet
Last Updated: October 10, 2026 12:01 PM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
No. 7 Indiana brings its FBS-best 21-game winning streak into a Big Ten road matchup against undefeated Nebraska, and my Indiana vs. Nebraska prediction finds much more value in the total than the point spread.
This is a meeting of two of the conference’s three remaining unbeaten teams, and is the only one on the Week 6 slate between two Big Ten teams with 2-0 league records.
Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is set for today at noon ET (FOX). Indiana is a 7.5-point betting favorite.

Over 48.5 (-105 via BetMGM)
My projections have Indiana right around a touchdown favorite, so the fact that it has hovered between -7 and -7.5 all week doesn’t provide a whole lot of value. I do however believe Nebraska’s solid defensive metrics will not hold up against Indiana’s explosive offense, leading to the Over cashing.
Indiana’s offensive line has been dominant against FBS competition, paving the way for 6.4 yards per carry and the seventh-most rushing yards per game (241.8). The Hoosier’s depth at running back has shown, with two different players (Lee Beebe Jr. and Turbo Richard) rushing for over 200 yards in the last two weeks against Northwestern and Rutgers, respectively.
On paper, Nebraska is built to negate that strength with a defense that ranks in the top 30 in yards per carry allowed (3.3). But an inferior Maryland squad ripped off four explosive runs and averaged 5.6 yards per carry, which causes doubt around the Cornhuskers’ ability to defend Indiana’s ground game.
📡 SBR Edge: Turnovers and penalties
Two things that should help the Over cash are Indiana's ability to take care of the football (zero offensive turnovers) and the fact that Nebraska could help the Hoosiers extend drives as the 133rd-most penalized team each game (averaging nearly 10 penalties per game).
Indiana's struggles with mobile quarterbacks
While Indiana’s rushing attack should be a key factor in it putting up points, Nebraska’s offense is also built to give Indiana’s defense fits.
Indiana’s closest game so far was a narrow six-point victory over Northwestern where Wildcats quarterback Aidan Chiles accounted for three touchdowns and a season-high 89.2 QBR. Four sacks led to a net zero rushing total for Chiles, but his ability to escape pressure otherwise led to many throws outside the pocket, as he turned in his second game with a 75% completion percentage or better.
Of Nebraska’s four players with 38+ carries, quarterback Anthony Colandrea’s 6.6 rushing yards per attempt ranks second, and he is coming off a 108-yard performance against Maryland.
Score prediction: Indiana 27, Nebraska 24
