Pragmatic Play Expands Sportsbook Offering With Soccer Player Markets

It may not be associated with our best sports betting sites, but players at our top real-money online casinos are certainly familiar with Pragmatic Play. And it has some exciting news as it continues to grow as a company.

As announced in a press release, the iGaming software provider has expanded its sports betting product by adding soccer player markets. The new markets include, but are not limited to, shots on target, player fouls, and player passes.

“Football is the most popular sport in the world. Every week, millions of bets are placed on domestic and international games. Many of these bets include specific player markets, which continue to grow in popularity,” the press release reads.

Gareth Crook, Senior Vice President of Sports at Pragmatic Play, commented on the launch: “Betting on the actions of individual football players is fast becoming a key growth area within any sportsbook. Users are starting to favor these types of markets when betting on football over the more traditional football markets and it was important for us to add this latest product to our football offering. Pragmatic Play sports clients can now enjoy access to a full range of player markets across multiple football competitions globally.”

The sportsbook solution

Pragmatic Play’s sportsbook offering covers the full trading lifecycle, from event creation to bet settlement, and ensures a flexible and easily integrated solution for operators. The company says it can fully customize the user interface and experience to meet specific business needs. It also provides localized content in multiple languages.

It features betting on thousands of global sporting competitions, including the NFL, NBA, ATP Tour, and more, backed by the latest data from official sources. Features such as dynamic odds, custom markets, player props, and bet builders enhance the betting experience.

Pragmatic Play announced the launch of its sportsbook solution in 2022, with the advanced Player Account Management (PAM) product debuting through DAZN Bet in Spain in November 2023. 

“Pragmatic Play has a reputation for technical and creative excellence, and we’re thrilled to be the first operator to utilize its Sportsbook offering,” said Simon Gatenby, CMO at DAZN BET.

The product has since expanded to the UK market, also through DAZN Bet.

In the US, sports betting is currently legal and available in 38 states and Washington D.C., after the Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018, allowing individual states to legalize wagering within their borders. Missouri will become the 39th state to launch legal sports betting after voters passed Amendment 2 to legalize retail and online sports wagering by a narrow margin.
