NFL Analysis: Breaking Down the Win Totals in the NFC

With the first week of preseason action beginning Thursday, it’s a fitting time to peek at the win totals across the NFC at Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks.

Dallas and Philadelphia are positioned by bookmakers to be the best two teams in the NFC East. However, the markets tell opposite tales.

The Cowboys failing to win 11 games has the higher vig across the board, and even with DraftKings hanging a total of 10 wins. Caesars and FanDuel both have the Dallas win total of 10.5. Philadelphia, meanwhile, has the same win total across all three books with the Over healthy juiced. 

Washington is on an island. All three books have different win totals with their odds all over the map. FanDuel is especially interesting, as the +145 number attached to the Over 8.5 wins might be tempting sitting alongside a -170 vig for the Under.

While Caesars and DraftKings feature an identical offering for Green Bay, FanDuel has the Packers at 10.5 wins with a significant vig attached to the Over. The Pack need 12 wins to cash the Over at the other two books, whereas 11 would be a push.

Take a look at the Vikings, and you can pluck the number you want between the three books for either the Over or Under. DraftKings and FanDuel both have +105 odds attached to the Over, but the win total is 9 and 9.5, respectively. The difference is also reflected in the Under odds.

Detroit is another example of a team bettors and bookmakers are expecting to take a step forward in 2022. All three books have the Over returning minus money.

Prospective Bears bettors will want to look at either DraftKings or FanDuel, as Caesars has the same win total as DraftKings with worse odds.

The NFC South is straight forward.

Tampa Bay Over bettors will find the best return at Caesars, whereas Under backers should look to DraftKings. Similarly, FanDuel is the place to bet the Over on the Panthers, and DraftKings has the best odds for the Under.

The Saints and Falcons are a little more complicated with more options. 

Still, finding the win total you're comfortable with back on the Over or Under will quickly point you in the right direction, as there’s a clear best number for both teams on both sides.

The 49ers, Cardinals and Seahawks all have multiple win totals available, and it’s another example of where you can shop for across a couple available win totals for each team. 

San Francisco is particularly interesting at FanDuel, whereas Caesars and DraftKings have the same total and odds listed across the board.

While the lines for the Rams are only moderately different across the three books on the consensus 10.5 win total, the best number for the Over is at DraftKings, and Caesars has the best return for the Under.
