Manchester City Opening Favorites for 2022-23 Premier League Title

The opening odds for the 2022-23 English Premier League have been posted, and it should come as no surprise that Manchester City have once again opened as the favorites.

Winners of four of the past five titles, City have also opened as the favorites to varying degrees before each of the past five seasons.

They also announced on May 10 that they have agreed on a transfer for Erling Haaland, arguably the top young striker in world football. As usual, the rich keep getting richer.

City won the 2021-22 title on May 22 in dramatic fashion, coming back from a 2-0 deficit in the second half against Aston Villa to hoist the trophy. They finished with 93 points, while Liverpool finished with 92.

The usual "Big Six" of City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham dominate the top of the odds table. Only Leicester City have managed to win the title outside of these six teams since the 2010-11 season.
