Bengals vs. Chiefs Game Preview

The Chiefs will be looking for revenge on the Bengals after coming a field goal shy of making the Super Bowl last season. Kansas City (-116) is favored by one point over Cincinnati (-102), with the total set at 46.5.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are riding a 10-game winning streak and are looking to make consecutive Super Bowls for the first time in franchise history. They are coming off a 27-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills as 6.5-point underdogs, improving their record against the spread to 13-5.

Joe Mixon posted over 100 yards rushing for the second time this season, scoring a touchdown and averaging 5.3 yards per carry against a Bills defense that ranked fifth in rushing yards allowed this season. The Bengals running the ball often came as a surprise, given Joe Burrow has one of the best receiving units in the league, headlined by Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs come into this matchup on a five-game winning streak and will play in the Conference Championship game for a fifth consecutive season. They are looking to make their third Super Bowl in the past five years after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 in the Divisional Round. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce connected for a touchdown for the first time since November 27, as the league's top tight end broke his own record of 13 receptions in a postseason game by one. Kelce’s second touchdown came from backup Chad Henne, who replaced Mahomes in the second quarter. The quarterback returned for the second half, but likely will not be one hundred percent for tonight’s game after suffering a high ankle sprain.

The Bengals won each of the three matchups in the calendar year of 2022, including a 27-24 victory this season — an identical score to the AFC Championship matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
