Tonight’s Super Bowl will mark the first playoff matchup in NFL history between the 2017 Champion Eagles and the 2019 Champion Chiefs. Philadelphia (-125) is favored by 1.5 points over Kansas City (+105), with the total set at 51.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have outscored opponents by a total of 55 points in their two postseason matchups but will face their biggest challenge to date against the number-one scoring offense this season. Philadelphia has a strong receiving core (12th in receiving yards), but the rushing game is where the team truly stands out. Each of their four touchdowns came courtesy of the run in the previous game, with four players combining for 150 yards. Kansas City Chiefs

Fortune has been on Philadelphia’s side, with Brock Purdy suffering a UCL tear in the NFC Championship Game and now Patrick Mahomes battling an ankle injury. Not only do the Chiefs have the league’s top quarterback playing injured, but their leading wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will also not be one hundred percent after being removed with a knee injury in the previous game.

Kansas City ranks first in passing yards compared to 21st in rushing yards this season, but they may need to rely on their running backs more than ever. The Eagles have surrendered the fewest passing yards but rank 16th in rushing yards allowed. Week 1 starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire will return to action for the first time since Week 11 after Mecole Hardman was placed on the IR in a corresponding move. Isiah Pacheco will remain the team’s top rushing option after posting 951 yards through the regular season and playoffs.

Kansas City has won each of the past three matchups and holds a 5-4 record against Philadelphia all-time. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.
