Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the consensus favorite to win the 2022 NFL Regular Season MVP Award at CaesarsDraftKings, and FanDuel Sportsbooks.

Here’s a look at the top candidates for the 2022 NFL Regular Season MVP Award and the line movement and odds at the three noted sportsbooks.

There’s been limited line movement beyond Caesars dropping Josh Allen’s odds and making him the betting favorite in April.

Allen has led the Bills to a 24-9 record and consecutive AFC East Division wins over the past two seasons. Additionally, the Bills have reached the playoffs each of the past three years.

It’s worth adding that Allen’s impact on the NFL goes far beyond the field, as the league changed its overtime rules to ensure both teams have possession during playoff games following Buffalo’s overtime loss in the AFC Division Round against the Kansas City Chiefs last year.

Notice FanDuel has Patrick Mahomes listed as the co-favorite to win the MVP Award, whereas DraftKings has raised the return over the past two months.

Mahomes won the award in 2018 and was also the Offensive Player of the Year that season. And while the Chiefs have remained a powerhouse in the AFC West over the three years since winning Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes is still chasing a second championship.

The Kansas City offense will also be without wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and the organization dealt the speedster to the Miami Dolphins during the offseason. Hill scored 53 touchdowns over the past five years, so Mahomes enters the 2022 season without arguably his top target since taking over as the starting quarterback in 2018.

There are two immediate takeaways here. First, Tom Brady’s odds haven’t budged. Secondly, all three sportsbooks have different numbers, with DraftKings hanging the best return.

Brady will be 45-year-old when the 2022 NFL season begins, and he’s racked up an incredible five Super Bowl MVP Awards and three Regular Season MVP Awards. He also finished second in MVP voting last year after leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns.

The Buccaneers should cruise through the NFC South, so Brady’s likely to be in the MVP conversation throughout the 2022 season.

It’s fitting that Aaron Rodgers’ odds have remained locked in at +1000 across all three sportsbooks, as the reigning winner has won the award four times, including in each of the past two years.

There is one huge question mark, though. Who will step in for Davante Adams after the Green Bay Packers dealt the veteran wide receiver to the Las Vegas Raiders during the offseason?

Over the past six years, Adams racked up 69 touchdowns, and Green Bay has infamously failed to bolster the wide receiver corps to complement their star quarterback.

Again, there’s been minimal line movement in the Justin Herbert MVP markets, as Caesars is the only sportsbook to move his number and is also still hanging the best odds.

The 2020 NFL Rookie of the Year has quickly established himself as a superstar, and Herbert is currently the favorite at DraftKings to lead the NFL in passing yards this season.

Playing in the loaded AFC West will significantly impact whether or not Herbert can remain a favorite to win the Regular Season MVP Award. If the third-year quarterback can lead the Chargers to a division title and the postseason, his stock will probably climb considerably.
