Bonuses

$750 Risk-free Bet

Opt-in to the offer during registration and Tipico will credit you with a risk-free wager of up to $750. The bonus amount matches the amount of your first wager, not the deposit. You will have thirty (30) days to use your risk-free wager and bonus funds from the time the risk-free wager is added to your account. There are no minimum or maximum odds requirements for your risk-free wager. Any bonus funds awarded must be wagered through 1 time on qualifying wagers before the bonus funds are converted to your wallet as real funds.

Terms and conditions apply.

Tipico sportsbook offers new customers some of the most misleading sign-up bonuses and ongoing promos in the industry. Most revolve around promoting 100% sign-up bonuses but feature just a 10%-20% deposit match up to the advertised amount and have play-through requirements between 1x for to 3x your deposit amount.

Also, you’re not able to withdrawal at all while playing through your bonus bets, or else it counts as opting out of the promo. So, be careful with that one.

Tipico Risk-free Welcome Offer up to $750
Tipico has a wide variety of welcome offers for customers to choose from, which is nice as most sportsbooks stick with one standard offer.

The highest-value bonus Tipico offers is a $750 risk-free bet. A risk-free first bet gives you insurance in case your first bet is graded a loss, but if your first bet hits, you get nothing for signing up. Due to this, most bettors prefer a deposit match.

Tipico has improved their playthrough requirements from a 3x rollover to match the normal 1x rollover for your winnings before you can withdraw. This means if you take full advantage of the $750 risk-free bet, you need to play through an additional $750 ($1,500 in total) before withdrawing funds.

In addition to improving their playthrough requirements, Tipico also doesn’t have a minimum or maximum odds requirement for their risk-free welcome bonus. It is common to see books limit you to -200 or better, meaning you can’t bet on heavy favorites to satisfy your playthrough, but Tipico has scratched that.

Limited Ongoing Promotions
Tipico is constantly churning out low-value ongoing promotions. Here are some examples of those:
$10 for all: 100% deposit match up to $10 in bonus funds w/ 1x rollover.
$150 Treat: make a qualifying deposit of $50 or more, and Tipico will match 10% of your qualifying deposit in bonus funds, up to a maximum bonus award of $150 with a 2x rollover requirement. So you have to deposit $1,500, place wagers totaling $3,000 on games or events with odds longer than -200 within 90 days just to get $150 back. They did a similar match of $75 for the beginning of the 75th NBA season.

Tipico also offers parlay insurance for some leagues. During the MLB season, the terms state “If there is a full-game no-hitter in any MLB game in your qualified parlay, and your parlay loses, you’ll be eligible to receive a cash refund for the entire wager amount up to $750.” So, you need a no-hitter for that to hit which is pretty uncommon.

Summary

States Available
In the U.S., Tipico is currently live in New Jersey and Colorado.

Tipico is set to expand thanks to a multi-state access deal they secured with Caesars. So far, they have announced intentions of launching in the state of Iowa thanks to a partnership with Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf’s. In Indiana, Tipico will partner with Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino.

Separate from their deal with Caesars, Tipico also announced a long-term partnership agreement in Ohio with Major League Soccer club, Columbus Crew. This partnership grants access for Tipico to launch its mobile sports betting app in the state when it launches online sports betting on January 1, 2023.

Sports Covered at Tipico
Tipico Sportsbook offers comprehensive coverage of football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, and tennis. We were impressed by the depth on display, such as basketball in Rwanda, soccer in Uzbekistan, and baseball in Mexico. Soccer is covered in the most significant depth, highlighting Tipico’s traditional focus on the European market. We found more than 100 betting options on many soccer games, but the choice was a lot smaller on football, basketball, baseball, and hockey.

Quality of Odds
The odds on offer at Tipico are not always competitive. It occasionally provides standard juice betting lines, but they are often below average. We found -111 / -111 on some NFL sides and totals when writing this review, while other sides were priced at -112 / -110 and one was -110 / -125. Its moneyline odds are also generally below the market average, so this is an area in which Tipico could improve.

Online and Mobile Sports Betting Experience
Tipico offers a unique sports betting experience because the online sportsbook site and app operate on proprietary technology. It is not the slickest or most aesthetically pleasing online sportsbook, and it can feel cluttered at times, but it is very efficient and user-friendly. Sports bettors should quickly grow accustomed to their quirks. We were able to place bets quickly and efficiently when using the site.

Most golf tournaments, MMA, and boxing bouts are covered comprehensively. You can also bet on Aussie Rules, badminton, chess, cricket, darts, futsal, handball, motorsports, rugby league, rugby union, table tennis, volleyball, and water polo. That is a long list of sports, and some of them feature lots of wagering options.

The Tipico team has vast experience running successful mobile apps in Europe, and it has now brought that expertise to the United States. You can download an iOS app via the App Store and an Android app by visiting Google Play. They have a 4.7 out of 5 rating on the App Store.

Live Betting
Sports fans will be able to bet on a broad range of events in-play at Tipico Sportsbook. It offers live betting on every NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL game, plus many soccer games, tennis matches, and more niche sporting events.

Live streaming is unavailable, but you will be kept up-to-date with play-by-play updates as part of an infographic with live scores. Live betting sections must be easy to navigate, with user-friendly, effective bet slips, which is undoubtedly the case at Tipico Sportsbook. We could place bets before the lines changed with ease, which is not always the case when we test out sites for our sportsbook reviews.

Other Gaming Options
Tipico is in the process of creating an online casino for the U.S. market. It already has an excellent online casino in Germany, featuring many exciting games from highly-rated software development studio Play’n Go.

The European casino does not include virtual table games or live dealer play, so it will be interesting to see if Tipico includes them for its U.S. site. It is live in New Jersey, where online casino gaming is legal. It also has a deal to launch in Pennsylvania, so it will need to come to the market with a solid offering to compete with leading online casino operators such as Unibet in those states.

The European version of the Tipico Sportsbook does not include a horse racing section, so it is unlikely that Tipico will launch a racebook any time soon.

Reputation
Tipico Sportsbook has an average reputation. It is the number one online sportsbook in Germany and one of the most popular online sportsbooks in other European countries.

The wide array of bet types and sports covered at Tipico are on par with the leaders in the U.S. industry. We would like to see them feature more favorable odds regularly to compete with rival sportsbooks. They also need to strip back their promotions program to create more appealing and less frustrating playthrough requirements to achieve the advertised promotion amounts with ease. Overall, Tipico is an average or slightly below-average sportsbook.

Tipico Company History
Tipico is a U.S. sportsbook initially founded in Europe in 2004. It became the leading sports betting provider in Germany and one of the top sports betting companies worldwide. The company offers digital and mobile betting entertainment across 30 different sports and invests heavily in developing technologies. The Tipico Group of companies employs over 1,800 people worldwide and another 4,200 people working in the Tipico associated franchise network.

In the United States, Tipico is regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and has established U.S. operations and business headquarters in Hoboken, New Jersey. Tipico has partnered with Ocean Casino and Resort in Atlantic City for New Jersey licensing and is regulated by the Colorado Division of Gaming for its operations in Colorado, which is in partnership with Century Casinos for licensing in the state.

In July 2021, Tipico announced a partnership with Gannett, who previously featured odds sourced from the offshore bookmaker, Bovada. The new collaboration granted Tipico exclusive access to the power of the USA Today Network, consisting of more than 250 daily local sites and its USA Today Sports Media Group. The five-year agreement marked Tipico as Gannett’s exclusive sports betting and iGaming provider, integrating odds, props, free-to-play games, and betting trends across the USA Today Network.

On September 13, 2021, Tipico announced a new multi-state market access partnership agreement with Caesars Entertainment. The 10-year deal, which has a 10-year renewal term, includes immediate state access for Tipico to launch an online sportsbook in Indiana and Iowa, pending state licensing and approvals, with a path to expand to additional states in the future.
