Canada look to win their third straight match against the USMNT, but I’m backing Mauricio Pochettino’s side to prevent that from happening in my USA vs. Canada prediction.

Team USA are the -150 betting favorite for Tuesday’s friendly at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minn. (8 p.m. ET, TNT). I’m massively impressed by how Pochettino’s side has acquitted themselves in the international window, and I have my eyes on one player making waves for his goal-scoring exploits.

USA ML (-150)

The USMNT have enjoyed a terrific international break, thanks to Pochettino and his infusion of youth. The Argentinian is keen to build for the future, as he has shown by giving eight teenagers playing time in the three matches since Sept. 26.

Those matches were particularly fruitful, with the USA winning all three by a combined 11-3. That includes a dominant 3-0 victory over arch-rivals Mexico.

While Canada won their two friendlies, both were less emphatic. Jesse Marsch’s men took advantage of a numerical advantage against Chile, who had two men sent off, winning 1-0. They also beat an inferior Peru 2-0.

🆚 SBR Edge: USA revenge game

Marsch, who hails from the United States, has beaten his compatriots in both matches since becoming Canada’s head coach. Marsch fueled the fire during the World Cup when he talked about his unparalleled allegiance to Canada. That will provide additional motivation for an American side playing at the peak of their offensive power.

Score prediction: USA 3, Canada 1

🔥 More USA vs. Canada expert picks

USA ML & Under 4.5 goals (+110)

Team USA haven’t lost three successive matches against Canada in over 50 years, and they are an unblemished 3-0-0 at Allianz Field, outscoring opponents 11-0.

The USMNT are playing bravely, showcasing an expansive style of offensive soccer and relentless press that Pochettino became renowned for during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. Canada have a few key injuries, and they will start a comparatively inexperienced rearguard.

Julian Hall anytime goal (+125)

Julian Hall became the youngest player to score in each of his first three international appearances since Pele, who was 16, achieved the feat almost 50 years ago.

The 18-year-old wunderkind bagged a goal in his 28-minute cameo against Peru and added a goal in each of his starts versus Chile and Mexico. While Canada’s likely center-back pairing of Jamie Knight-Lebel and Luc Rollet de Fougerolles has more games under their belt than the teenage star, both are relatively inexperienced.
