Jim Harbaugh’s reeling team faces a daunting test against the reigning champions today, and my Chargers vs. Seahawks prediction foresees things getting worse for the winless side.

The Seahawks are a 7-point betting favorite as they look to rebound from a shocking defeat to the Commanders, with kickoff from Lumen Field in Seattle set for 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS).

I’m going to chuck a few stats at you that encapsulate the Chargers' offensive woes: 31st in EPA per play, 32nd in points added off motion, 24th in third-down conversion rate, 31st in EPA per rush, 24th in sack rate, and 30th in drives that scored.

That’s pretty shoddy and particularly disconcerting against the Seahawks’ best defensive EPA per play and third-best in DVOA. Plus, the Chargers had a +4 turnover rate against the Buffalo Bills and still managed to lose by eight.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, outgained the Washington Commanders by 179 yards but lost. I don't expect to see another -3 turnover game from the champs.

Seahawks' defense vs. Herbert & Chargers' offensive line

The Seahawks have the sixth-highest pressure rate (30.6%) and the second-highest QB knockdown percentage (16.3%) despite ranking 17th in blitz rate (23.1%).

The opposite is true for the ailing Chargers offensive line. Herbert is pressured at the fifth-highest rate (30.6%) and has been hit the sixth-most times, tied with four others, despite being blitzed only 19 times. Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence are the only other QBs with three starts who have been blitzed less often.
