The 49ers are the 7.5-point betting favorite despite injuries to some key starters. I’m backing the Over, believing the 49ers’ defensive absentees will help the teams combine for at least 48 points.

Brock Purdy is on fire, tossing five TDs and one pick in two sublime performances. While the litany of injuries to the 49ers receiving corps is concerning, I’m confident any professional football player can catch Purdy’s passes in his current form.
It helps that he’s facing a Cardinals team with the 23rd-ranked defensive EPA per play. Meanwhile, the Cardinals offense should have a better chance of scoring thanks to the 49ers’ decimated defensive line.
Nick Bosa joins Romello Height and James Thompson Jr. on the treatment table. Surely, Jacoby Brissett and his offense, which ranks 13th in DVOA thanks to scoring 26 points against the disappointing Los Angeles Chargers, can take advantage of this rare opportunity.

49ers compromised pass rush

A cleaner pocket should lead to a higher completion percentage and more opportunities to move the ball downfield, even if the 49ers drop deeper.
