Too few people know the name Danny Scudero. He led the country in receiving yards last season with 1,297 despite not playing in a bowl game, and he led the Mountain West with 88 receptions.

Of course Deion Sanders wanted Scudero in Boulder.

But the key here is less about Scudero and more about offensive coordinator Brennan Marion. His “Go-Go” offense should create a couple blown coverages for Scudero to exploit, especially against a Georgia Tech defense rebuilding its entire secondary.

Julian Lewis, QB, Colorado: Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+162 via FanDuel)

Marion’s offense focuses on giving defenses unexpected looks. It does not inherently demand throwing the ball, though that is certainly done plenty.

It will have to lean on throwing, though, to best utilize much-hyped sophomore quarterback Julian Lewis. He is plenty athletic, but he is not one to ramble downfield. And weighing only 190 pounds, Lewis certainly is not going to be the focal point of a goal-line package.

Colorado should find more success than most expect against Georgia Tech’s defense, but if doing so, it is going to be on Lewis’s arm.

Justice Haynes, RB, Georgia Tech: Over 80.5 Rushing Yards (-114 via FanDuel)

Georgia Tech has to replace star quarterback Haynes King while also losing the offensive expertise of Buster Faulkner. The former gets the headlines, but the latter’s absence will impact this season just as much, if not more.

The Yellow Jackets should return to the physical ethos espoused by head coach Brent Key, focusing on transfer running back Justice Haynes, formerly of both Michigan and Alabama.

This is a lofty rushing total for a season opener, but Haynes may need to be an absolute bellcow for Georgia Tech this season.
