Just to give you guys an update - There has been quite a bit of info that's been collected that's been passed on to ASIC since my last update. Between myself and two other posters, they've sent me everything they can and I've in turn sent it all to those looking for it.


To give you guys a bit of background without hopefully screwing anything up - One of the people involved in Canbet was also involved in many other schemes involving things outside of sportsbooks. What it means for you is that it slows things down a bit which is a negative... the positive though is that all of this other stuff is providing proof that he should not have been a director of this company and was fully aware it had no $ while still continuing to accept bets. This is a very very very good thing.

Just sit tight for a bit. I know it's frustrating but no one has forgotten about you. If that f'n UK GC was worth a penny then we wouldn't be going through this right now but since we know they're useless and they've given up, we have to do this the hardcore way. Again, no promises but you have 3 very determined people in Melbourne working on your behalfs - 2 of which aren't even owed cash from Canbet betting. Hold on a bit more and we will update you soon.

Excellent work Shari. I contacted GC, as their license issuer, for latest Canbet update because we have no update in last two months, and you guess, they didn't respond me nothing. What a losers...
As we already knew this theft was planned in front, and it is good that this fact is confirmed. Hopefully investigation will find who is responsible for false auditors report in January

Creditors can petition the court for a company to be wound-up ie liquidated to realise its assets. If granted there is then also an investigation into the conduct of the company and its directors. You need to be a creditor of the company to at least £750 to do this.

With Canbet there aren't likely to be any assets of course, so it is then relying on whatever the investigation turns up as to whether the 'corporate veil' is lifted and the directors become personally liable.

I just want to give you a heads up shari, you are f'n brilliant! If you hadn't taken charge in this whole thing (without any personal stakes involved!) it would most likely still be dragging around, amounting to little or nothing.
If I didn't need the money so bad I would easely give you half of any funds recovered to cover your expenses and the time you put in, but still I'd be happy give 10% or more if needed. This whole situation has forced me to put my studies on hold and find a job, in short, it has affected my personal life bigtime, and I had given up hope to get anything back a long time ago.
It is hard to express my gratitude, you are helping a lot of people with this, I find it amazing what you're doing for us!

It MAY have occurred regardless of her involvement in bringing the case and evidence to the attention of ASIC but there can be no denying the effort she's put in on it on behalf of Canbet customers.

SBR and BetIslands is totally irrelevant to this.

I guess, but I don't think people owed need to be concerned about them hiding the accounts is what I was trying to get across. The owners will probably already be on 'the run' if it gets to that point. And personally I doubt well established identities who seem to have got themselves into this knowing the outcome was coming will run very easily. They will go along with whatever legal proceedings they have to and play the game I expect. Which means handing over accounting info fairly early in the process.

Just an update - The documents ASIC has been waiting for from IGAS' new administrators HallChadwick have been filed as of last week and I was asked yesterday to resubmit some info and provide some additional stuff. I'm not sure what those docs say but they're available on the ASIC site if someone is curious and wants to purchase them. I was told I'd hear back from ASIC by mid next week at the latest so I'll let you know when I do.

If they don't have money to pay us, maybe Delta corp (http://www.deltacorp.in) will be forced to pay from court , because they are some kind of IGAS owners. I don't know if this is possible, just thinking.
And if they destroyed our accounts with all data, than it is clear sign that fraud was made. They have no reason to do that.

Some of you may recall I posted early last month seeking Canbet customers for an article in the Racing Post. I'd like to thank everyone who got in touch for their time and assistance and let you know the resulting article is published in today's (22/5) edition of the Racing Post. Its main focus is the lack of protection given to customers by the UK's Gambling Commission during the Canbet saga and hopefully some may find it of interest.
