JJ really? After Doyle Brunson switched to Dem I figured most serious gamblers just got tired of the GOP phucking with them. I was going to volunteer for Bloomberg-Paul but they never came to an agreement. As is I might sleep in or vote Obama. McCain is geniunly nuts. I spent some time in DC and he was known as a batshit crazy hothead in the 80's. I don't think he's mellowed with age.

Not really. "Crosssover" or the social scientific term "defection" is a relatively rare occurence in electoral politics to begin with since most voters vote consistently with one party, but in all likelihood McCain is extremely vulnerable in many many ways that Obama is not. There are way too many factors going against McCain right now. Anf if anything, any large scale defection that occurs is likely to go toward Obama.

Personally, I'll be voting for Nader.

    Obama!

Why the hell would anybody vote for McCain considering that the Republicans alone passed the UIGEA anti-gambling bill and that abortion would become illegal.

And the guy is still fighting the Vietnam war thus wanting to fight more wars all over the globe in order to show he's "tough." And he admitted that he doesn't even use e-mail! He's so old that he doesn't even know how to use a computer!

sure it is, it has been for some time. when 2 parties share a monopoly on the whole system, it undermines the whole voting process.

and really obama and mccain? this is the best we can do?

tired of voting for the lesser of 2 evils?

    vote Libertarian

Who really cares. Do you think your life is going to drastically change regardless of who wins? The CIA, FBI, and IRS are all independent of the will of the President. You know Clinton was all up in NASA and the FBI's ass to take a look at "top secret" crap and they told him, read the National Enquirer? True story..

Sorry, but it's not a waste of a vote. Electoral politics is not a zero-sum game. Candidates have to earn the right to every single vote. Just b/c Obama is better than McCain doesn't necessarily mean I am going to vote for him.

Nader is far and away better than Obama on every conceivable measure, it's not even funny. There is literally no where in Obama's campaign where he holds a more progressive position than does Nader.

Obama is pro-war, Nader is pro-peace

Obama is zealously pro-Israel, Nader is pro-peace

Obama favors continuing to build up the overbloated military industrial complex while Nader favors reducing it

Obama doesn't want to open up the presidential debates, Nader wants all presidential candidates to have the right to debate in a national public forum

Obama is too scared to call for impeachment for Bush/Cheney, Nader has called for his impeachment for over 6 years now

Obama favors health care for some only, Nader favors a single payer national health insurance system (what the majority of Americans want)

Obama does not favor gay marriage, Nader does

And the list goes on and on......

So basically you think I should vote Obama even though I don't really see much in his campaign that excites me?

Anyway, what is Obama? He's just a corporation. He's starting to run a conservative campaign and his campaign handlers are basically ruining his campaign right now. Obama is nothing special and certainly not an answer to the country's problems. Sure he's better on social issues and clearly a far superior candidate than McCain, but that does not mean he automatically gets my vote.

The issues between Nader and Obama are stark.

Unfortunately Obama will not win in a landslide.

Why? Look no farther than this and other gambling forums. Repubes are doing everthing possible to outlaw their favorite pastime but they just ignorantly accept it because they are willing to "give it up to stop terrorism". I know....... HUH?

Doubt i'll be pulling the lever for anyone, if i had to it would be Barr simply because he is the libertarian candidate. Even though i strongly lean conservative, I cant bring myself to vote for McCain and I despise obama, and voting for a republican for congress in my district is like voting for me for president.
