Being christian is a mental disorder. We just don't call it that because it's very effective at keeping most people in check and not killing each other. That's literally the main reason it was created. There's way more evidence for that than what you are trying to project on to others.
It's effective because it calls us to love one another and therefore no killing and fighting. It's more importantly effective because He has offered us an ever lasting life of peace with no disease or suffering. It's on offer to every one of us.
