^TLDR: -Fanduel quietly dominating sports betting market while DKNG & PENN just make headelines...look for OTC to NYSE listing soon, currently undervalued. -Disney streaming expanding into many Asian countries in Fall 2021 & then Europe in 2022, expect lower streaming numbers next qtr though, so likely buying opportunity before end of year but Disney looks on its way to be being a trillion dollar company this decade -PENN looking to get into Live sports streaming, rumor mill with MLB...I occasionally watch live sports on some offshore betting sites while live betting so this is a thing and could be coming to the US. Partnerships w/FUBOTV? ESPN I believe already has deal with DKNG

So we are in a market where bad news is good news, good news is great news, even horrible news is OK news. Usually during these times in the market is when I like to just tread lightly. There's even a good chance for a rapid blow off coming but when even nasty news is shaken off like no big deal, I have to lighten up and hang on to the cash. I'll happily miss the next 25 points in the SPY just to get a better read on the 3 month outlook for the final quarter of the year.

Gave out JMP a month ago at $6. Closed today at $7.20, 3x's normal volume. Love this stock for a takeover around $10. Insiders are buying, profits increasing.

    Good luck to us.

DOW down 500 in 2 days...this is usually when the bears come back talking about a retracement to the March '20 lows. Like to use it as a buy confirmation signal.

Well it may be the down turn I have been waiting for but there needs to be some other things to happen. Right now all the SPY is doing is coming back down to a former break out area for a test. Breaking below 438 and I'm a little more excited. Sure they gave up the 20DMA today, but they have done that like 5 times this year and every time the SPY has a rip your face off rebound. So the play is the rebound until they start closing hourly candles below 438. Below that is 435.5, break below that on daily closes and I'm more bearish but still thinking that a rebound that blows back your fur is still on the way. Next up on the docket is the 434 area or the 50 DMA. Then a weekly closing below 426.50 represents a 20WMA and that is a good line in the sand to look at. If they close the week below 426.5 and in the upcoming week, the SPY is unable to recapture the 20WMA, then yeah, I'll be in the pullback bear camp for a while.

Any of you guys get the letter from FINRA concerning the disbursement of funds/fines Robinhood has to pay to customers affected by their outages and false margin calls? I got one back in June and it looks like they’ve identified most of the customers but there’s no way to tell what’s what. I guess you just have to wait on a check but some folks are getting some serious cash.

Its chart is pretty weak, under the 20, 50, and 200-day moving averages. Debt to equity ratio is a little high, and debt isn't well covered by current cash flow.

That said, they are profitable, they have respectable margins, returns, great return on equity, sales & earnings growth.

My bottom line: It's an okay stock, but I think there are better companies that aren't in downtrends.

OTLY is a dumpster fire. Its chart is crap, it's not profitable, EPS is dropping. If I had to trade OTLY, I would rather short it than go long.

DKNG is better, but the chart has the price below the 200 day. It's not profitable, the ROE/ROI/ROA is all negative indicating poor management. It does have solid sales and EPS growth, but there are better companies to own.

yeh I agree, I won't be a buyer of CHDN until it gets above 207. I'm a small short seller below 175, and if it goes back down to 168 in a rather quick fashion (over the next couple of weeks), I'm a buyer for a swing trade.

So it looks like the SPY is going to open around the 435.5 level which is a gap left from a few weeks ago. Below that is where I like to jump in at around the 434ish level, then more at the 432.75 spot and the final line in the sand is 431.20 for the complete fill up and goal line defense for the SPY. IF it gets below that today, I see 425 as the next big support level I'm will to try again at.

Left at the alter this morning by the SPY. Then it took off to fill the gap from yesterday's close, and now it is just hanging around gaining energy for the rip your face off rescue operation which I suspect will start right after lunch around 1 today and continue into the weekend.

Today's play remains the same from yesterday. The last session was a series of fake out from the Trick, Trap, Fool and Fvk you crew. Still thinking we have a rescue operation today in the morning with a floater to end the day. Maybe not this could be the one Friday in which they kill them and we see the SPY dip below the 50DMA, and maybe the 20WMA.

Boyz it's time we look at BABA again.

2 yrs ago in this thread we bought the hell out of BABA at $125 and sold it way too soon at $190.

After going to $300 it has dropped all of the way down to $158. They have increased their repurchase program to $1 billion a month to the end of '22. Their balance sheet shows $291 billion so a $15 billion repurchase is pocket change.

ROYer i'm holding BABA and BIDU and just looking for the right time to average down.

i don't like their charts the last several years though.

    i am concerned.

i got caught buying them on the way up and i like to hold Long so i did not sell.

it is my MO and no regrets on that but do i really want to add anymore with how the CCP has cracked down on them more than ever before ??

There’s a lot going on with Alibaba and EU which basically making them lose European customer base...I haven’t done a deep dive into yet but there seems to be a there, there...also very unclear if China is going to tighten capitalizing personal data which is another huge part of the bottom lines

There is a group of maybe 10 global companies that you just BUY when they are on sale.

This elite group runs the world, not the other way around.

    I'll hammer a few names
    Berkshire Hathaway
    Alibaba
    Amazon
    Apple
    Chevron
    SoftBank
    Blackrock

This group has 1)the best business talent in the world 2)best lawyers 3)immune from government and court interference

I thought the same thing TROBer but ROYer is a major league heavyweight and almost everything he has said in this thread the last 3.5 years since i started it, has rung true.

I am going to take a hard look here at averaging down on BABA.

still unsure whether i should do the same on BIDU.

i am down ~20% on each position on just one order so i have left myself potentially 3 more orders.

this is my MO on just about every position i open. i leave myself room to average down.

Not saying it’s not a good buy here, I believe theres tremendous value....only thing I take issue with is saying Alibaba is immune from impact of an authoritarian regime, CCP is BAE...I still own JD and I agree this is likely all fugazi tightening/loosening cycle they always go thru....but it is until it’s not.
