    Markets screaming a bit today.

Some of Total Return positions getting some gains.

LNG continues to be a strong stock and it's good to see money come into PFE and GME.

AAPL and GE, both of which I hold there are the only two Dow components down right now. AAPL should be fine with all that cash and GE seems so low that...well shit, it's GE...lol.

Just averaged down on GE and bot at $14. My cost is now $15.50. Need this guy to firm up.

Gold up to $1310 inching forward.

I wanted into banks outside of mortgage co's and picked up Citigroup this morning.

My cost on GE is $14.70, I can't imagine that we have too much downside.

I'm not too happy with GME (Gamestop), it's outlook may not be that great, but there is a dividend (the higher yield could be worry) and I've traded it in this range before. May have to sell and buy back. It's one reason I bought extra shares of it. Maybe just sell and walk away.

I'm down overall today but a little less down than the indices.

I was looking at DBB, could be a play for metals in general.

Gold up a bit with GLD, GLTR and SGOL up some.

Still haven't picked up any of these "protections" from a market pullback.

Didn't really protect myself too much yet from friendly countries announcing trade "retaliations."

I wonder if another buying opportunity is developing before we really see a contraction. There may be more than one opportunity. Remember, it's not what we make that counts, it's what we keep.

I expected volatility for a while and in my opinion that comes with territory when interest rates are heading upward.

But some of this volatility is geopolitical in nature and even though a change in the steel environment could hamper some growth, I think the overall change, and even the retaliations, may not have a long term effect. I think it increases some holding time for some of my positions, but my Total Return fund has nebulous goals...which is already a bad idea...but at least it holds mostly decent stocks.

I say we keep an eye on volume during some of these big swings and keep in mind that some of that volume increase is media and story related as opposed to institutions and some traders making moves.

There may be a difference. One idea is to draw basically support/resistance type lines on your volume part of a chart. You can see the volume relative to the trading history.

Big rally in the pre market.

But some potential bumps possible with the 8:30am economic reports.

The multi nationals are going to be choppy with the never ending trade talks. Probably a great area to avoid for the rest of '18.

Very impressive rally. All sectors being bought even bonds which were in the deep red have battled back into the green.

This is one of those head scratchers.

I could see a strong market rally close if we don't get some huge move up before then.

GE holding the Total Return Fund back but it was a small position.

How low can GE go? I see about 13.97 to 14.01 (about) as a potential support level. I have a small amount at 14.70 and am thinking about more at 14 or so. Options could be possibility but honestly, I may just look the other way as I'm not down too much at let it bounce up.

If it doesn't find support around $14, GE could go back to it's lows to around $13.

Otherwise not a bad rally for the equities so far today.

Been selling calls against my GE position. Been working out. I would definitely not buy calls in the middle of this weakness.

I just bot some SPY calls hoping for a closing rally. Still waiting.

Yeah, GE falling through the low would definitely create a new low. Glad I don't have much.

I'm still keeping in mind the effects of rate changes but hope to see a small run in some positions before we see a change and effect of change.

Of course, part of me knows I'm living on hope in the face of reality...lol.

Lotttt of insiders buying GE. Stock is trading at 1x sales. This tariff talk hurts them and they are already wounded. But she is a $20+ stock just have to put her away and forget about her for a while or buy more.

Nice work Josh, I have your list in one of my watch screens.

Roy called it, a it was a little more of a rally right at the end there, getting back some from the day highs.

LNG my biggest loser, but it's been one of my biggest winners through the last week, helping get me through the two crashes.

It's all a part of volatility.

Many think there will be a dividend cut. If that happens, it will go lower.

Yea I've seen that chatter. The CEO said they won't through 2019 but I think that assumes the turnaround stays on track.

I'm tempted to call GE dead money. It's going to suffer in any tariff tit for tat. But if you look out 3 quarters they are looking for .34 a share. So I certainly wouldn't sell GE in 2018.

Trumps tariffs already affecting companies, for example.

Harley-Davidson warns of hit from EU reprisal against Trumps tariffs.

Harley's stock has slipped over 14.00 just in the last 12 months.. 55.59 to 40.68.

Without any stability coming out of Washington, going forward you will start seeing these stories everyday from companies affected by tariffs..

    Agree 100%.

The Dow is easily the weakest average with all multi nationals. But I'm not sure the Dow takes down the SnP 500 or even the NASDAQ.

I think we see days where the Dow is down 75 and the SnP is up 4. But generally speaking I would avoid all 30 stocks in the dow.

Keep in mind a tariff both benefits some companies, generally small to med domestics, and hurts others, generally large exporters.

Never been able to get my mind around BABA.

Some shocking fundamentals both good and bad. Their revenue is up 500% in the past 5 years. Unfuggin believable. Looking for $32 this year and $40 next. Some estimates looking out 5 years put earnings at $100 per share.

They have raised cash through debt to a pretty high level.

Can't blame anyone for holding this guy until the end. Maybe it flames a little but it appears there is lot of money to be made holding BABA for 5 years.

Wish I had seen this one just a bit before.

It's a long term small cap growth semiconductor and it pretty much just broke out.

I wish I had timed it better for the Total Return Fund but timing really doesn't matter if you are in below 9.

    Check out HIMX...Himax Technologies.

Trading now at $8.48 but just moved nicely.
