only many bitcoin sportsbooks left stealing from customers. hope SBR gives them all a downgrade.
Bcc/bch will probably be worthless by then.

we had a thread going. its not a super easy issue but I always trytrytry to advocate first for the players post up money and rights.

I tried with a thread to get discussion and some possible SBR statement or type forum pressure going but its too big of an issue too late to do much.

crazy week for sure. even with the new coins at $300 now that still major money like 10% im sure bitcoin sportsbook customers would like to have. dont understand how Nitrogen and others sportsbook would think in this day and age of forums, social media marketing, etc that stealing players funds is a good idea. but maybe it blows over, football season cures lots of memory loss!

IMO - books that convert btc to cash then adds cash to your available balance have NO obligation , none whatsoever , to their clients as far as BCH is concerned... almost feel the same way about btc only books

Yeah. I really don't see sports books as stealing our money. They are not an exchange. Nobody knew that this was going to happen. If they have our funds in Bitcoin that's it. Its really not their obligation to give us extra money because Bitcoin forked or whatever. Who knows if they even keep all our funds in Bitcoin. They might just convert it all to cash instantly and have stored Bitcoin to pay out.

I think I'm with Sam and Mike on this one too. The books are vendors and probably don't even have the ability to make that work without a lot of planning and development expense. Kind of up to the client to move their coins for a day.

So who all still has their Bitcoin Cash on cold wallet? At what price was it acquired?

Who had success getting it on an exchange and sold already?

I sold my BTH in Kraken for BTc and withdrew that portion. Unfortunately today I'm missing about half of my original BTCs but still have some BTH's. My order was correct, but my balances are not. Have sent a request to Kraken to straighten this out. We'll see how that goes. Apparently they were only partially ready for this fork.

I also have BTC in an Electrum wallet, on Coinbase, and Blockchain.info. Haven't even considered trying to retrieve the BCH's yet.

Update: Kraken got back to me quickly saying I put the trade in backwards. Maybe, it was late at night and I waas tired.

Does anyone know of a good place to buy bitcoins other than coinbase? Everytime I try and make a purchase on coinbase now it gets cancelled for some reason. I think they are blocking all my transactions with them now.

Not many choices if you are a US guy but...
I'm in Kracken - to me they are a joke. If you ever dare to need CS you are totally fvvcked. But a lot of guys in there..They are legit.

Bitstamp - I'm a fan/ I think they are conservative and well funded. They don't diddle around if you need to transfer or request a wire. A little more know your customer stuff but they are licensed and audited and run a pretty tight ship in my uneducated opinion.

Forget what I said, this is a completely different process than the video I saw the other day which takes a lot longer to get your BCC from a blockchain wallet and involves having to process a bunch of information onto your computer. Thanks for the post Raiders.

I second Roy's opinion: if you're in the US, Bitstamp.net's your best option, since there's very few exchanges left still willing to take deposits in dollars without totally ripping you off (Coinmama style).

The good news is that after you've made your first successful deposit in dollars (a process that could take up to a week), your movement problems are over. Once your dollars are at Bitstamp, you can buy Bitcoin (BTC), which is super easy to move around: to your own wallet, to other exchanges if you want to buy alt coins, to sportsbooks, wherever.

I think this runup is in anticipation of SegWit locking in tomorrow.

Hopefully, that will generate pro-BTC headlines in the "regular" financial media. Guessing crypto prices is always fraught with peril, but I'm guessing those headlines might drive BTC even higher, to another ATH, above $3500 tomorrow/Wed.

    Coindesk

Barring unlikely interruptions, the scaling proposal called Segregated Witness (SegWit) is expected to lock in on the bitcoin network today.

Should enough miners continue signaling support, SegWit is projected to meet the necessary threshold later this afternoon (around block 479,708). And while it's theoretically possible miners could change their minds, it's unlikely they will – in short, miners have a huge financial incentive to enforce the change.
