I only played penner for a stupid reason - I haven't seen anything impressive from perosh in his ufc fights (not to discredit him).
The two wins perosh got in zuffa he obviously got from getting those guys to the ground - but both guys kind of made mistakes and the td was a result. Penner has a wrestling background I guess and has since focused primarily on his stand up. While its a small record, he is undeafeated in 3 fights in both pro boxing and kickboxing. He seems to pack a punch and has great leg kicks too from what I have seen.
He's fought more cans than perosh, as well - so what I have seen might not be spectacular as the comp is limited (in fact, penner's comp record is really really bad, can fiesta right there). So I am not taking penner's good record as too credible. However, I do think he is a big burly guy, seems to have competent wrestling, and I've gotta give him the stand up edge against perosh. Perosh seems to lose to guys he can't get down and gets beat up on the feet by.
Penner has never fought a legit grappler, so I am def concerned and as such I wouldn't put much faith in playing him. There is no doubt in my mind that penner will probably be a fish out of water if perosh can get top control or back control on the ground.
But the price is cheap and I am not really sold on the hippo in any real aspect of the fight game. He does have home turf, experience, much better comp, and a great bjj game, but I'm banking on penner to keep it upright and beat up the hippo on the feet. Overall not confident in this play, a bit on the degenerate side for me, but its cheap and I think any decent, well rounded fighter has a good chance to beat perosh.
