Anyway place was at capacity & I got on at 1.a.m scheduled to play for 2 hours & the first 3 or 4 tracks I had the crowd going but the vibe was just ok, everyone was dancing just not really letting it all out yet, wasn't 'pumping' yet basically. Anyways out of nowhere decided to drop thetrentemoller remix of royksopp - what else is there? (a single off that 2nd record you mentioned & still probably their biggest hit 'til this day) & the place went absolutely nuts, one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen in a club & I've seen & played alongside many big international acts before, people had heard the original song as the album came out a few months prior & some DJ's had given it a fair bit of play but no one had played that particular remix yet (got it on promo, so hadn't been released yet) they knew the words itself but were just having eargasms at the remix I played, I'd cut the sound for a second or 2 during some parts in the vocal breakdown & you could hear hundreds of people singing along/yelling the lyrics, was epic, one of best feelings I've ever experienced doin' my thing up there, probably because it was the first time I had the crowd in my hand at a big gig so won't forget it & probably reason why I can still recall it, that particular remix ended up being one of the biggest club tracks worldwide in 2006. Anyways, enough story time, cute & all but getting too deep there - now continuing on with the royksopp topic will post up a couple of gems from the knife, with one half of them providing the vocals for what else is there & also feature on a bunch of other royksopp stuff. I'm guessing you've probably already heard of them but just in case you need a reminder to re-visit here's some samples to wet your appetite el-capy I love me some synth-pop!
They do a great live show too, was different visuals when I saw them here but basically they looked like they were floating.
