well that sucked, only the home team Toronto "showed up" for this game, 5-0 score goes under. NY Islanders looked really bad, they were on a back-to-back, but Toronto was playing some rookie call-ups on defense, so NY should have taken advantage but they're just spiraling out of control it appears.
Meantime it looks like Washington in a good position to win their game.
Thursday Feb.1 - final addition - 4th pick of the night x4 units::
CALGARY -104 // 4.16 units to win 4
if looking for a reason, Calgary beat Tampa 5-1 on Jan.11 in Tampa....Calgary as a team tends to repeat these type of wins against teams with a better record when the rematch game occurs in their home building. Both goalies will be the same starters in tonight's rematch, Andrei Vasilevskiy at Mike Smith.
Tampa goal-scorer Nikita Kucherov has been cold without a goal in the previous 9 games (All-Star game not included).
Matthew Tkachuck has been hot for Calgary, with 7 goals in the previous 8 games.

An explanation of the unit sizes, for anybody following who might be thinking what is going on betting 4 units,
well,
I like to vary the bet size based on my confidence in the pick and sometimes other factors.
Supposed to win the bigger bets more frequently, looks bad when they lose like the day before.
My range is 1-5 units.
I manage my bankroll how I see fit. Sometimes it might look like chasing but I'd disagree....a lot of times I press higher after a winning streak, and lately that hasn't worked. So here tonight it was 4 units which won, after 4 units yesterday which lost...so part of the decision tonight was to see if I could even out the loss with a win, and that was accomplished.
Also I think it is better for my betting style to vary my unit size to make a profit thru the season.
After much deliberation on tonight's schedule, settling on this home dog. The line has moved against them, with the visitor Calgary now a thin favorite. Both teams playing their backup goalie. I just say New Jersey needs to play a disciplined game here because in desperate need of the win.
I might be back with a pick for a later game tonight.

**OK, have to cry a bit about the late game, Vegas @ San Jose. First of all, I'll admit to being completely wrong about the main factor I thought Fleury would not play well tonight in goal....Fleury was in fact the best player on the ice by far and it was obvious if you watched the game. Gave up 3 goals, but made 35 saves and many very good saves.
However, the referees were totally bs in this game. Did not call several obvious penalties against Vegas. No I mean really. This is the first time in this thread I've complained about referees, this one really stunk. 2 of 3 goals by San Jose were on Power Play and that is a strength of their game, so perhaps they would have overcome Fleury's great play by getting more of the Power Plays they deserved.
