Stephen Curry closed as the favorite by the 2024 NBA Clutch Player of the Year odds before winning the award, according to the closing NBA odds from our best NBA betting sites.

While most NBA awards have been a foregone conclusion for months, the NBA Clutch Player of the Award was a tight race until the end accoring to our best sports betting sites.

For much of the season, Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard was the consensus favorite to win this award in its second year of existence. Then Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry took over this race before ceding the top spot to Chicago Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan ahead of the season's final month.

Curry wrestled that lead away in the final weeks, and he eventually outlasted DeRozan to win the award, the league announced Thursday:

Just when it looked like Curry had squandered his chance in this race, the Warriors star made a late push and closed as the favorite to win the second-ever edition of this award before ultimately winning it in a tight race.

By season's end, nobody had scored more in crunch time than Curry, whose 189 points and 32 made triples were the most by any player in the closing stages. He also shot a blistering 45.7% from deep in those 142.9 "clutch minutes" - when the score is within five with five or fewer minutes left - with a handful of game-winners to his credit.
