After a full plate of hockey on Friday, Saturday cools down a bit with eight games. As a result, several teams are playing back-to-backs.

The Boston Bruins and New York Rangers start the day off at 1 p.m. ET in New York, with the Los Angeles Kings hosting the Montreal Canadiens at 4 p.m ET. Then there are six night games, including the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Pittsburgh Penguins and the Calgary Flames vs. Colorado Avalanche.

Here are our top NHL prop picks and best bets for Saturday (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Saturday’s NHL prop picks

Pavel Zacha to record a point vs. Rangers (-135 via DraftKings)  ⭐⭐⭐

Pavel Zacha found his footing in Boston last year and continues to impress this season for the Bruins.

He's centering the top line and power-play unit with Hart Trophy candidate David Pastrnak and captain Brad Marchand, so there is plenty of opportunity for him to produce.

Zacha picked up his 15th point (eighth assist) of the season on Friday night. He now has points in six of his last seven games, and 12 of his last 14.

It’s more than just a hot streak for Zacha. He put up 57 points in 82 games last season in a reduced role, as the Bruins still had Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.

Back Zacha as he continues to make the most of his opportunity.

Quinton Byfield to record a point vs. Canadiens (-105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Kings forward Quinton Byfield is another player coming up big on the top line. Byfield now has points in three straight games and has shown consistency already with a six-game point streak preceding that.

The Kings are expected to score at least four goals against the Habs. Byfield should be in on the action with Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe on the top line.

While Kopitar (-166) and Kempe (-215) are heavily favored to record a point, there’s value on Byfield here at -105.

Flyers ML vs. Islanders (+140 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Flyers and Islanders meet again on Long Island just three nights after New York took home a 3-2 victory against Philly.

Both of these teams are on the second half of a back-to-back, but there’s more to it than just that. The Flyers played in Philadelphia at 1:00 p.m. ET and were off the ice for hours by the time the puck dropped in Ottawa for the Islanders' game at 7:30. The Isles beat the Sens and had to fly back to Long Island.

On top of the rest and travel advantage, the Flyers were the better team for most of Wednesday night’s 3-2 loss. They had significantly more shot attempts than the Isles (74-44) and more scoring chances (34-24) as well at five-on-five play. That all added up to a 59% xGF (2.93 - 2.03).

That tracks with how these teams are performing this season. The Flyers are in the top 10 in xGF% (52.85%) with the Isles at 12th-worst (48.70%), and they've both been trending that way.

John Tortorella will have his team ready to go on Saturday night.

Canucks -1.5 vs. Sharks (-105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Canucks have already flexed their muscle against the Sharks this month, winning 10-1 on Nov. 2 and 3-1 this past Monday. That’s been a common theme between these two teams.

Vancouver tends to win big, as it did in its 5-1 win in Seattle on Friday night, while San Jose isn't a stranger to blowout losses.

The Sharks did fight to a rare shootout loss at home against Montreal on Friday. However, that will likely be the only point they get this weekend.

The Canucks have won 13 games and covered the -1.5 spread in eight of 10 wins as favorites. Meanwhile, the Sharks have covered the +1.5 spread in just five of 20 games this season.

The depth of these teams will be shown on Saturday night, and that's a huge advantage for Vancouver. The Canucks also have the edge in net with Casey DeSmith (4-1-1, 2.89 GAA, .912 SV%) against Kaapo Kahkonen (1-5-0, 4.37 GAA, .895 SV%).
